How can they be showed down your throat if they are on a totally separte board here? You have a PROFESSIONAL TEAM in this city. Get over it. You even have a team that is going to make the playoffs. Can you understand how great that is for this town???

It doesn't matter whether they are a professional team, high school, or unrelated to basketball altogether - they're in direct competition with the Tigers for city support and basketball money. I wonder if the ill feelings left from the power politics it took to get the FedEx Forum built hasn't left a very sour taste with the typical Memphis taxpayer -- a bad feeling that was re-directed toward the University in the most recent squabble concerning the $250,000 for Tiger move.

I guess I'll stop going to CBHS games, since they directly compete with the Tigers.

It's not "I hate you", it is "He Hate Me".

Let's get rid of this Grizzle mess on our board. There are some people OK with the Grizz, and others that it would be listed as a "major turn off". I hear it can last for more than four hours.

The Grizzlies is on a totally separate aprt of the board. You NEVER have to read it if you don't want to. So why do you then? And will the XFL jokes ever stop. They are so hackneyed now.

I liked the XFL, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. The Druckenmiller-led comeback over Chicago that kickstarted the second half turnaround, the dominant win over eventual champion LA in the final game... good memories, and it's a shame the league was never given a fair shake. Was it better than the NFL? No. But it was decent football and a fun experience. Any time I get to go to the Liberty Bowl and support a Memphis football team, it's a nice time.

As for this thread, it was a joke directed at GA's infamous comment over on CUSA-Talk. I happen to have 400+ posts over on the Grizzlies' official forum, if that says anything.

No, go to all the high school games you want -- supporting both can happen --- just like you can love both your parents or all of your kids.

BUT -------- let

one thing that has hurt tiger attendance is the absolute dearth of saturday night games, especially games with marquee value. of the few, the highlight was UAB, and that game probably drew 5k more on that saturday night than it would have on a weeknight. practically all of our home games have either been weeknights or afternoon games, traditionally tough times to draw crowds of much over 12k.

The Griz are not to blame for the lack of Saturday night games. The Tigers have 1st right of all dates in the pyramid. The Griz choose after the Tigers.

Blame the Conference, blame television, blame Wolo if you want to, but you can't blame the Griz for that one.

I can tell you from personal experience,,,I love the Tigers and the Grizzlies....The reason I dont go to the games anymore is that its too damn uncomfortable,,,but if I had to chose a game, I would go to a Grizzlies game before some of these Tiger home games this year,,our schedule sucked!!!!!But, I will be there for every game if we move to the Forum...

you bet it does. Been to a Redbirds game? So if Dunavant and co. were successful at getting an NFL team for Memphis and we had to build a new stadium somewhere near the river, would all the Grizz haters be as vocal because it's the NFL, not the NBA? Which it really should be.

My guess is yes. That's the kind of thinking that will continue to make Memphis "the largest small town in the country" or "the true capital of Mississippi."

I did the same double take and went back to check the dates.
