Congrats Tar Heels from the MAC!!!

Yes Congratulations Heels. You guys were clearly the better team tonight and played great!
Some things that really impressed tonight:
-Tarheels ability to stifle the inside game of Illinois, UNC kept Illinois out on the perimeter most of the night and forced the Illini to live and die by the three.
-May is a beast plain and simple, nobody in college hoops can really match up with him man for man for 40minutes
-UNC was more explosive to the rim and with their offensive penetration
-UNC contained Illini's fast break
-Heels big men outmuscled Illini big men (witht he exception of Powell) and got Augustine in early foul trouble.

congrats from a card carrying member of the ABC Club and a Dukie. yall outplayed Illinois. they made terrible shot selection at the end. this is a true win for you guys (as in not by a phantom TO, or a pass to the wrong team).

I agree. You can only set screens and keep passing outside of the three-point line for so long before you're just not making anything happen. If the game was won by passes, then Illinois definitely won, but it comes down to actually throwing the ball towards the basket to possibly score points--something Ill. forgot to do.

Anyways, yeah...congrats. But uhhh...hellllllllo NBA! :D

We take great pride in knowing that we were the last team to beat Carolina this season (which coincidently also happened in '93 - the last time the Heels won it all).
