What Happened To..........
The baseball team. We went from first in the league to losing seven in a row and probably not making the tournament. I respect Coach Skole and what he's done for the program, but can't we win 1 GAME out of seven against decent competition?

Accountability. a 200,000 dollar plus budget (Stetson is ranked and we outspend them by 120,000 dollars) and can't win in a decent but not great conference. No excuses, I guess he should worry more about his players hitting the ball then what color jacket the student videographers who aren't getting paid wear to games.

accountability
Yes I have to agree about making our coaches accountable.. The budgets for our minor sports are big enough now to where the fans and alumni should expect more results. I have always like Coach Skole and the way he talks and the way he recruits. But his problem seems to be performance in the field and winning at the end of the year. Tends to remind me of the basketball situation. Sad.

I haven't followed the baseball team close enough to form an opinion about Skole's performance this year.

I would say before anyone wants to dismiss him that it was deemed to be a rebuilding year that I don't expect you could bring in anyone better with Mullins at the helm and the low ETSU budget.

But I think this is where we can see the high profile sports at ETSU going in the future.

If you plow over a your old baseball field for a soccer stadium and then call your home an off campus, 100 year old facility with a hill in right field you simply are not making a commitment to your second-highest profile sport.

Until a new stadium is built that is suitable to share with a Class AA minor league team (a new field isn't going to cut it), then baseball is going to be a second-tier team in the A-Sun behind the Florida schools.
