Softball
#1 team can't play in post season... gotta love this country. There has to be a better way to stop schools from making this jump and not punish great programs.

Why not make it attendance based and have people verifying there's good attendance? Why not make it budget based so athletic departments are competing on a fair level? Why in the world would you want to have a school that can dominate in D-II stuck in purgatory for four (ten soon?) years if they have shown they can hang with the big schools? Why not demote consistent under performers?

A lot of questions but it gets the point that there has to be a better way to monitor the influx of teams. Right now it's not even performance measured, it's time... if you do your time and adhere to the minimums, you'll be accepted. Why not if you don't have a budget of $10 million dollars and average home attendance of 2,500 for basketball... 1,000 for baseball and so forth. I think you'd find a lot of schools falling short on this.

Who wants to go watch a team that's not playing for anything other than pride and the legs have been cut out from under them as far as recruiting goes?

Yes, lets limit Division I athletics to huge public schools, that is a great idea.

Why not base it on something other than 4 or 10 years of stunted growth?

Why are you so bitter about the 4 year probation all of a sudden?? Missing a softball tourney is not the end of the world. You can send KSU back to DII if you don't want to wait the other 2 years ;-)

Ha... well we have a few games against Mercer coming up.

I don't know why now but it just bugs me. Can you imagine if this would have been basketball's case?

Yes I agree, it would be a real issue if you got 1st place in basketball. Softball's record is impressive though, and they will get rings and a banner, don't worry about that.

KSU should have immediately starting using the D-1 standard for academics when they started thinking about it. Recruit to that rule, etc... That would have sped it up.

3rd Conference Championship for Kennesaw (W XCountry, W Soccer). UNF did us a favor and took one from Stetson so we could have it outright. Good job ladies

in my opinion we already had it outright anyway cuz we beat stetson both times. now they can put a little banner or w/e on that new beautiful scoreboard of theirs while the baseball team plays in a **** hole.

Really? Is that the reason soccer (and golf or whatever) got fast tracked?
