Out of the loop
Since I've quit working for the campus newspaper I haven't heard much about the direction our school is going. I'm also graduating which will further my distance with KSU. Has anyone heard any dirt on athletics and what they're doing to get ready for after reclassifying?

Also, there was a death on campus, a high ranking faculty member had an anurism (sp). There were allegations of discrimination against someone else. I know there's stuff going on but just don't know the details like I used to.

I'll be there tonight after work. Hopefully the new year can mean a fresh start on the season. It's hard coming out of the gate 0-2 in conference. There's potential though which is a good thing.

As far as hockey is concerned, Waples doesn't think it can make enough money to justify the expenses of adding more female teams and be successful in the long run. The reason for not going D-1 was that he thought being dominant was just a phase the team was going through and wouldn't be able to sustain. Plus they're doing just fine as a club team playing well known SEC schools. It's a free boost to the athletic program and they don't have to play by the D-1 rules. I'm kind of with him. The team plays like thugs, running up the score and then taking cheap shots on outmatched opponents.

I saw pictures online that our 1 million dollar statue that Dr. Siegel brought to campus is torn down and in about 50 pieces... that's kind of interesting.
