What happens in two days?
Well, tomorrow they come up with the price tags and then they submit the wrap-up to the President.

It will shape the entire athletic future of the athletic program.

And I want to see how people think this puppy will turn out.

Here's what I want-

Does it return or not?

How does ETSU spin it? Remember, if they bring it back, then they are going back on a lot of their word- Stanton saying he won't raise activity fees and all.

What happens then? If it comes back- when does it come back?

What will happen afterwards?

They have already raised the fees several times without football. How do you think girls tennis went to San Diego for two weeks last spring.

I've always said their math didn't add up. They said football ran at a deficit of $1 million but the overall athletic budget ran at a $2.1 million deficit. So you cut $1 million in deficit and you still have $1.1 to make up. Then, you start spending out the A$$. Never did make a bit of sense.

I know they raised the fees. I'm trying to see if someone will ask Stanton what made him say one thing and then do another within six months- and now will supposedly overwhelmingly raise the fees beyond what they were before.

Students will go for it. What were the activity fees in 1973? I have no idea- and you don't either.

Regardless- even if someone did a study it would be shot down with "look at the inflation rates- the increase in activities- is this really relevant- etc."

The math doesn't add up. But what I'm curious about is how much more creative bookeeping will take place in the future.

Let's say football had a two million dollar budget, but they were over one million dollars in expenses, that means they are one million dollars in the red. The university cuts the program out completely, the loss goes away because you're not overspending on something you don't have, yet there's their initial two million dollars that they had budgeted sitting there, getting reallocated.
The women's tennis trip to San Diego could have been paid for easily with Hamilton's salary for one year. Doesn't matter, let's say how the week goes.

Heres how it will play out.

Stanton will give it a green light.

But the TBR will have to approve the fee increase. To do that, they will have to have proof that the students at ETSU want it back. I think with 70% voting they would pay for football, should do it. Plus with over 3500 votes on the ETSU website, it makes it the highest voted-for poll for students at ETSU ever.

Wouldnt it suck if stanton gave it a go, and the state said no.

Unless thats what Stanton wants to happen, that way he can look like the good guy, I tried to bring football back, it wasn't me is was the TBR fault.
Gets him off the hook and still no football.

No it doesn't. Because ultimately he's the guy who killed it in the first place.

Not for the people who read this message board but for 99% of the public at large yeah, Stanton would be able to get away with it.
