NIT games start tonight
So the NIT starts tonight...we have Lipscomb vs UTEP....GSU vs Charlotte..and just for pitt Penn State vs Rutgers. Any thoughts on these games or any others?

I actually see Lipscomb giving UTEP a tough match up. They are very well coached and have a good defense that gave UT all kinds of problems. If GSU is shooting the ball well from the 3 against Charlotte I think they will win. As for the Penn State game I don't know because I really didn't keep up much with either team this year. I'll just let Pitt discuss that one.

GSU keeping it close with Charlotte it is 39-34 at the half in favor of Charlotte

Rutgers is up big on Penn St. 28-14 with about 5 minutes left in the first half.

Lipscomb and UTEP hasn't started yet.

Also it looks like Monmouth is going to win in a route in the play-in game they are up 15 at the half.

*One advantage of playing in the play-in game...if you win you get two games in a row on national television.* 02-13-banana

GSU loses by 16

and Penn St. loses by 5....uh oh I see another RodShaw and Pitt argument in the near future.

Lipscomb
No offense, Bucster, but it was a pipe dream to imagine Lipscomb had a chance against UTEP. Lipscomb is ranked 206th according to Sagarin. UTEP is 93rd.

In 10 games with UTEP, Lipscomb would lose ten times.

I don't put much faith into those RPI and Sagarin numbers and apparently the NCAA doesn't either, refering to Davidson and Belmont getting the same seed. Nevertheless, my reasoning for saying Lipscomb would give UTEP a tough game is because their defense gave UT hell in Knoxville, something ETSU wasn't able to accomplish. Their defense wasn't so hot last night as they allowed UTEP to shoot 77% in the first half! Nobody can win that battle!
