A Shame the Sunshine State Schools Have to Match Up Thursday
On paper, this thing looks like it could turn into the Volunteer State Invitational.. (Keep in mind that is only paper though).
FAU and Stetson are matched up with one another, JU won once (are you kidding me) in '05-'06 and did not make it to JC, and UNF was not eligible (not that it mattered much).
....Stetson's turnaround has been very interesting, to say the least. Looks like Coach Waugh has actually finally been able to put together some W's. Personally I'm pulling for FAU in Johnson City next week, to go along with a couple of the longstanding ASun/TAAC members, Mercer and Campbell. I'd like to see at least one of the N'ville schools go down Thursday.
A ASun Tourney without UCF is a bit sad I must admit.... :( I do have a lot of love for this conference and miss the rivalries that the Golden Knights had.
Good luck to everyone.

It's definitely not the same without the Knights! The hate I had for the Knights made it a lot of fun. Your coach was always ready for the 'big game'.

I do miss the UCF/Mercer games and the trips to the old Porter Gym/Box in Macon (that was a tough place to get a W, no matter what MU's record in any given season).
It's not just UCF that I miss from the ASun/TAAC days, but GSU and Troy, and going back further, Spam-ford, Jackie State, the CofC, etc., as well.
I do miss those rivalries.
Good luck to the MU Bears. this week. Hope they can knock off the Purples Newbies.
