How much longer will Paul Stanton stay as President?
This is a speculative question, but I think if you're an ETSU fan you have to admit nothing is going to happen until a new college president comes in.

Three previous athletic directors in just six years threw up their hands and said they couldn't work with the guy until they settled on David Mullins- and we all know how everything has gone into the dumper since then.

But Mullins is Stanton's boy and isn't going anywhere until there is a change at the top.

Any idea how long Stanton wants to keep his job?

I know you're just being a troll, so I'm planning on replying once then shutting up.

Stanton is president of the whole university, not just the athletic program. Yes, there is more to ETSU than athletics. Things are going pretty good right now; the state budget crisis is past, the new Pharmacy School is on track, and there's several long-needed construction projects going on on campus. As much as you want Stanton gone due to the gridiron football fiasco (and I'll grant that it was a fiasco), I don't see it happening now.

Plus, with five straight wins, it looks like this basketball season may be right back on track (touch wood).

So, have you heard that ETSU is getting a real football squad? We'll be adding men's football (that's soccer to American heathens) soon; it's a required sport in the ASun. I'm just waiting for the news to get out and the foaming at the mouth by all the gridiron football whiners to begin. I've had season passes for the ladies' team for a few years now and am looking forward to having a men's program as well.

Oh God- you call ME a troll?

You say soccer is "REAL FOOTBALL!"

You're not an American!!

And if this is the mindset of the people who support Stanton, then I think you to have no further evidence of what his vision of "Wal-Mart University" is really all about.

Fine.

But then don't start coming into my country and telling me that our sports aren't named right.

I don't go into England and start saying "POUND! NO! THAT'S A UNIT OF WEIGHT MEASUREMENT!"

I think this is just great. The only people praising Paul Stanton are American-bashing tea drinkers.

This is all just too perfect. TOO PERFECT!!!

Aside from the football thing which will NEVER go away until it's reinstated, Stanton has done a pretty solid job. A new Perofrming Arts Center, upgrades to the Medical and Nursing schools, The College of Business and Technology facilities were completely renovated, the Digital Media Center is clicking on all cylinders, Pharmacy is a little behind but coming, something that is much needed in this area. Football will always be Stanton's black mark, but I can promise you if he develops a conscience and brings it back (And money talks), then alot of naysayers will be shutting up.
King College is exploring all options of starting intercollegiate football, and they look to be playing probably around 2008...

Pitt, nice job of jumping to the wrong conclusions. I was wrong about the one post thing; this is much too fun. Keep up the silly ETSU bashing, and this East Tennessean will continue to laugh at you, even if my love of soccer is "unAmerican."

Perception is reality.

So is the fact ETSU professors make beans compared to that of other colleges.

All I'm going to say on Stanton is I have always felt he had a great bias towards the medical dept. and the other areas suffered.

I haven't been back in awhile. But I will say that I think he's not only fallen behind with the Pharmacy school (which to be honest- who cares?) but also in getting funding for new University High- because Alexander Hall has been falling down for decades.

They still have dual restrooms from the segregation era, for crying out loud!

I don't think we need to kill football or to have high school kids stay in what amounts to an obsolete slum for a performing arts center.

Laughing at me is about right. I'm the only voice of reason on here.

But no, let's talk about what a great president Stanton is and brag on wins over glorified high school teams.

Let's make excuses rather than get outraged at a fall from grace.

And you and all your friends can laugh at me at your little soccer games while the rest of the world laughs at YOU!

Your perceptions have little to do with reality. I think that's a definition of insanity. Repeating your mad rantings as often as possible doesn't make them any more true.

That's right moron, YOU HAVEN'T BEEN BACK BECAUSE YOU AREN'T WELCOME! As for your alma mater UH, ETSU no longer funds it, the Washington County School System does, and they need to close it and make room for true university growth. It's an eyesore, and an inconvenience to the students.
How far behind is Stanton on the Pharmacy school? Please tell me, because the students are registering for Pharmacy classes, the first class will STILL GRADUATE ON TIME, the professors, the money and facilities will all be in place to get the job done.
And a fall from grace? Where have you been? ETSU has always been looked at as a Easy T, the suitcase college, the four year school to go to if you can't, or don't want to leave mommy and daddy for college.
As for a new PAC, I can promise you it won't be obsolete. Dr. Stanton knows that with what's in Greeneville, and what is being built at Northeast State that he has to build one bigger, better and nicer if he doesn't want to lose students, both musically and theatrically to the competition.

Oh, please. At least EXPLAIN what you disagree with. SHEESH! At least lover does!

No- wait. You disagree. You think we should all forget about football- watch soccer- and presumably Ludacris at the Performing Arts Center.

I'm not welcome at ETSU?

Probably not.

I have a pair of stones, and evidentily nobody else there does.

Let me put this in a way you can easily understand. The Performing Arts Center will be a state of the art facility to compete with one current structure in Greeneville and another being built at Northeast State. Yes, they have the funding and the approval to build it according to the people that work there. It's being built as a way to house theatrical events, from high school to college, to professional performances. I know things like ballet, musicals and stage plays is above you, but trust me, people will enjoy this.
As far as soccer goes, people are starting to enjoy watching it. Do I agree with the decision? No. If we have Title IX issues as they say, then we can't afford a men's soccer program without cutting track, tennis, golf, baseball or basketball, and the last two they sure as heck better not cut, not if they want their new venues for those sports.
Ludacris won't be back to ETSU, tell your mom to keep you updated better on what's going on.

Ludacris won't be back at ETSU.

Tim Smith won't hog the ball again.

ETSU won't miss the SoCon.

You won't keep posting idiotic pieces of drivel and make false personal attacks at me.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
