Looks like JU and UNF could grow up to be a belmont/lipscomb or setson/ucf type rivalry. Also, once FAU leaves, the conference will be much closer together. Good stuff for you guys.

Yeah, it should be good for Jax, and the conference.

I wonder if Kennesaw State will fill the void that Ga State leaves as Mercer's rival?

I wonder how the travel partners will work. There will be an even number of teams, but most won't be close to their travel partner.

Stetson/JU...UNF/KSU...Mercer/Campbell.....GWU/ETSU....Lipscomb/Belmont?

Very well could happen. KSU has built a terrific hoops program. Hopefully that will continue when the move to Div. I.

I've heard that next year's travel partners will be Belmont/Lipscomb, ETSU/KSU, G-W/Campbell, Mercer/Stetson, and JU/UNF. FAU will take Troy's place as the odd man out.

Radford, Birmingham-Southern, and Florida Gulf Coast might join in a few years. (a 13-team league?)

If Radford joins, they'll be ETSU's travel partner. Radford is ok with me, but UNC Asheville is half-way between ETSU and G-W, and would be an easier drive from Kennesaw and Campbell.

Mercer is so centrally located... I don't know why we don't have the basketball tourny here? Especially with the new Arena. ETSU is the most northern school, just doesn't seem practical.

I agree - you're Arena holds 3000 right? It's set up much like the Curb Center and the smaller size will make it a better atmosphere for the tournament that only draws minimum fans from out of the host area.

Yea it holds about 3100. We get a lot of "visiting" fans at many games, so it's obvious that people can find their way here without much trouble. I wonder if we'll ever play UCF again? I know a ton of people that go to that school, I lived in FL til I came to Mercer.

I think the ASUN wanted ETSU to host it because ETSU by far, will have the best attendance out of the ASUN schools. ETSU averaged 4,611 last year at home.

Was their talk of UNCA coming to the ASUN? I would love that because ETSU and UNCA are about 45 minutes apart.

I think KSU will keep up the success in Division 1. I really am looking forward to next years season. Plus we'll be in our brand new facility, it's gonna kick butt.

On a side note, I think I recognize some of the posters on this board from The Southern Connection, GSU's unofficial athletics messageboard. I used to go to GSU.

Sorry GaStPanther, I went to school there for 3 years and I'm still a fan, so I'll have to disagree with you. Georgia Southern is the real GSU. Go OWLS and Go EAGLES!!!

Just wait till the next round of A-Sun expansion kicks in!

For those of you who don't know, when C-USA was discussing expansion, I was turning out maps left and right showing what the conference would look like with this team added or that team added. It became a 3 thread series of maps showing conference footprints.

Jermo.... I remember someone on the TSC who went to Kennesaw.... are you GSUTenor?

How many teams are a part of CAA and how do they compare with the Atlantic-Sun in terms of Basketball and Baseball.
