Ned:

Thanks for sharing. I wondered how much credence to give anyone touting a Tyson comeback. Not going to happen.

Yet another delusional that confuses what they WANT with what might or will happen.

I follow sports, but not really baseball. How bad were the Reds? I know they didn't play in the NLCS or WS.

True story: I'm talking to a guy today about a local HS kid. (Rivers.) He tells me he just got back from Georgetown where they are excited for their basketball team next year. With a 7'3" kid (not sure who) and two sons of NBA stars (Rivers and Ewing, who evidently has transferred from IU), they are predicting THREE STRAIGHT NCAA TITLES!!

Excuse me? First off, if a 7'3" kid is real good he doesn't go to college. Second, Ewing is at best an okay Big East player. No star for sure. Third, which the folks in D.C. might not know yet, Jeremiah isn't the second coming. He's good and a legit D1 player, but all teams have those. You win with McDonald's kids. (As soon as I said that I realized Jeremiah may make it on his last name alone. Who knows, it didn't help Bryson Kruger.)

I won't believe it about Georgetown until MattyG (who can't be Matty Guokas or he wouldn't say such nonsense) puts them in his new daily as the predicted National Champion.

Adam Dunn is the greatest power hitter since Barry Bonds without steroids. If he can mature and stop striking out look out for your next triple crown winner. The ptiching is much improved and Junior will stay healthy and return to his form of the best player of the 90s.

Book it and remember you heard it here first.

Oh yeah before you start the Cardinals are weak.

next year is the Reds' year. up and coming young pitchers. got rid of that dog Casey. 5 middle infield utlity players on the roster. great defense led by gold glove candidate in leftt field Dunn. This was the year to get the Reds. Good thing everyone did the second half of the season.

"Cardinals are weak"

Now, I see why newcomers get such a hard time on this board.

RE: Surprise Team
This prediction was right on point all along, it only came a few years too early.

I know MattyG would've posted this himself 'cept he's doing a dime upstate on some RICO charges.

TonyDaWINGERWANGERTiger, I assume you are talking about me. Yes, I am ugly (I can't help it) and yes, I'm old (and I can't help that either) but I didn't ban anyone. I am not a mod so what makes you think with that giant pea brain of yours that I can ban ?

RE: Surprise Team
Yet again, MattyG is proven clairvoyant. Alas, we approach the end of the MLB season and the Cincinnati Reds have the most wins in baseball with 80.

They've done this despite missing their MVP for a large portion of the season.

Looks like this is the year the Reds win it all. Long live MATTYG! Boo Old Lady's and their crappy gardens.
