Matt Ray hit a 2 run homerun to lead the Knights to a 5-0 victory over Belmont. UCF has now outscored Belmont, 41-6 in its last six meetings with the Bruins. The Knights go for the sweep Sunday. 03-nutkick

Go Knights!!!

To quote our Belmont friend on here "'ll give UCF credit for their season to date, but things could get ugly for UCF."

You got the ugly part right, however I believe it's Belmont losing 19-1 and 5-0.

UCF now has the most wins in D1 baseball.

Yes, I'd say that our Belmont friend is maybe a little overzealous. Belmont has been playing well, but UCF is a perennial top 25 program. Also, I'd say that you should beat the Florida teams in this conference before you get too excited, they did ok vs. FAU (though obviously FAU is having an off year) but still have one more against UCF and a series against Stetson. That is also the reason that I'm not terribly worried about being a game behind Troy is the conference standings right now as they still have to play us, Stetson, and FAU.

Ok, I think we've given the Belmont guy enough slack. He's already said he was a "homer" on his prediction.

I personally didn't think things would go THIS well for us - especially in pitching. If any of you did, then you're psychic or lying!

I did.

I don't give any team in this conference outside of Florida any credit. Troy will find this idea out pretty soon too.

This may sound arrogant, but until a non-Florida team wins this conference again then that's how it'll stay.

Our recruiting vs. Belmont isn't even comparable.

Here is a snippet from the Troy part of the midseason A-Sun review on SeBaseball.....

"I think the Trojans are going to get a big wakeup call from the Florida Four. Although they have the weapons, there is a reason no team outside the state of Florida has won the conference since… hell, I don’t even remember. This isn’t the year, but I would love to see the Trojans get an at-large bid. They sure deserve that and they definitely deserve to strut this team with the big boys in the NCAAs."

A team outside of Florida will have to win this conference before I will give anyone else too much credit, no offense to Belmont or Troy or whoever but until it happens I will not worry.
