Don't tell me you don't get it?!?!?! STETSON!

<a href='http://www.stetsonhat.com/history.htm' target='_blank'>[Image: header.jpg]</a>

Quote:Florida’s first private university, Stetson University was founded in 1883 by New York philanthropist Henry A. DeLand as DeLand Academy. In 1887, the Florida Legislature enacted the charter of DeLand University as an independent institution of higher learning. The University’s name was changed in 1889 to honor John B. Stetson, the nationally-known hat manufacturer who gave generously of his time and means to advance the quality and reputation of the institution, and who served, with Mr. DeLand and others, as a founding trustee of the University.

So you thought it was a coincidence along the lines of the "Cairo Syrupmakers" :D

(For those of you not from Georgia, we pronounce the city mentioned above, "Kay-row," like the corn syrup company "Karo." The high school's mascot is the "Syrupmakers")

He saved the school from financial ruin in the late 1800's therefor in his honor they were named the Hatters. I would think you would have found that out a few years back after we beat you guys in a regional.

Yea right... Tech is like the Braves... dominate regular season... choke post-season. After a half decade or more of choke, you tend to get all numb to it.
