MACON, Ga.- Link Jarrett, assistant baseball coach at Mercer University, has resigned at Mercer in order to accept a coaching position at East Carolina University, where he will serve as hitting instructor and recruiting coordinator, coach Craig Gibson has announced.

Jarrett came to Mercer in 2004 and spent two seasons with the Bears where he was a key factor in the development and improvement of Mercer’s infield. As recruiting coordinator, Jarrett brought in the largest recruiting class in school history for this past season. As the infield coach he helped lead the Bears to the top of the league standings in defensive categories. Mercer also improved its team on-base percentage from 2003 to 2004 and raised its team batting average in the same time span under the leadership of coach Gibson and coach Jarrett.
