??? How is this talent rating working here? FIU has a 2.5 average talent rating but thier recruiting class is better than ours? Anybody know anything about thier 6'11 guy? He is a transfer is he not?

Looking at recruiting around the league, I have two thoughts...

1. The belt got a lot of 3 star caliber players this year. (Hopefully that will translate into non conference wins.)

2. I think that even if it doesn't happen this year... DJ Magley may eventually prove to be the real prize of this year's Sunbelt recruiting class. Good gaurds come a dime a dozen. Good big men are the difference makers.

GO TOPS!! 04-rock

From the haven...

No true point gaurd?

So the year that Evans and Slaughter are seniors, Pagues, Magley Frazier, and Pettigrew are juniors we will be going with a freshman point gaurd???? Sounds like 2005 all over again.

I'd LOVE to have Hunt though. I guess we could go with Slaughter at point or a JUCO point gaurd but that seems like a huge gamble.

I dont think the staff will let that happen again. The new guy for 08-09, Tippon is a 6'5 shooting gaurd that can play point from what I heard. I fully expect a gaurd or two to be recruited for next year along with maybe a Juco such as Braz. But who really knows?

We lose 5 players this year? Is that correct? Lee, Brazelton, Siakam, Rogers, and Maresca? Only three of those guys are on athletic scholarship, and two of those scholarships have already been taken for next year by Tipping and Waller. So unless someone else transfers (I hope not) or goes on academic scholarship (that would be nice) then do we have another scholarship for a point gaurd???

I simply do not trust a non point gaurd to play the point. And I do not trust any freshman to be the starting point gaurd. It is too much of a skilled position.

I may be wrong, and I hope so because I would LOVE a 3 star point gaurd this next year.
