Will the TOPS break their streak?
The TOPS have won 4 games in a row, only 4, 3 times so far this year and are on a 2 game streak at the moment.

If we can win at UALR and at home against UNO, then the streak breaker would be at Ark State. Can the TOPS win at AState? I think so...

GO TOPS
GO SUNBELT

Looking at the remaining SBC schedule their are four games that concern me:

@ ASU
@ UNT (they have cooled down, but will have confidence after winning at Diddle)
@ Troy (if the 3's are flying in the concrete box, it'll be a long night)
@ USA (they always keep it close down there)

I will be at the UALR game, so we best win it!!

Galo, I really see the next 7 games as huge.

@UALR they will have a good crowd and will be fired up. Thier strength (inside game) plays to our weakness. With no Lee they could definately hang a loss on us.

UNO I'm not too worried about this one at home... but this is a big game and they do have Bo.

@ASU, @UNT both of those are very scary right now.

LaMonroe -- again, this one doesn't really scare me. The students will be back... Lee should be back by then... I think the Toppers will be energized by the crowd, and Monroe will be absolutely shocked that a Sunbelt team has fan support.

@Troy They deserved to beat us in Diddle.

@USA. They were off that game in Diddle. They will be fired up to play us at home. Scary game.

If we go 5-2 out of those 7 then I wlll be happy. We need Lee back in a hurry.

@UALR - Always up in the air. I believe we'll win but it'll be tight.

New Orleans - We'll win unless someone puts a lid on our bucket again or the refs decide to be a force in the game.

@ArkSt - We begin a 4 out of 5 game road swing. This 5 game stretch will be toughest of the season, especially if we're not healthy. This game and the South Al game worry me.

@Denver - Altitude sickness notwithstanding, we should win.

LAMonroe - the great unknown. This will be interesting. I'll take the TOPS. Loved your line about their shock seeing Sunbelt fans in an arena. ROFLMAO.

@UNT - TOPS will be fired up for revenge.....or better be...

@USA - They've won 5 out of 6, convincingly. Maybe Pelphry has them clicking now.

Until I see some better post play and defense, I am not calling anything. With our inconsistency it seems we are beatable every night (see Troy game in OT, and loss to UNT).

For some reason, I just don't feel like our players are getting enough fire in their stomachs before they come out.

Again, I see those four games as crucial. If we lose, it will likely be one of those. I am headed to Little Rock, so we better win that one. I am expecting a stellar performance from the homeboy, Jeremy Evans.

You know... I was just wondering the other night if maybe that is actually one of the reasons why teams seem to play better against us. If I were a player and I almost never got to play in front of a full (or near full) house I would probably think it was a lot of fun to come to Diddle.

I don't know... maybe sometimes. I see it as more of like a confusion or bad timing. Like the extra pass that goes through someone's hands when they just could have layed it up. Or leave a man wide open. I don't think its lack of hustle... they just weren't aware or in the right place for some reason.

I am envious, Galo. If I had some vacation time right now I would have loved to have made the trip. I expect a full report and hopefully some digital pictures of the arena and game. ;-)

How many quality first halves have you seen? We start slow most games. It takes us flirting with teams for 10-15 minutes before we get going.

Yeah, looking forward to UALR game. First time I've been to their new arena. They have decent attendance.

Next Saturday (27th) I'll be in Denver. Next to FIU, it has to be one of the worst attendance. Our game is actually going to be an auxiliary gym because of the hockey game that night.

I've always attributed that to our depth, athleticsm, and conditioning. I make it a point to watch for when the other team starts to bend over, catch thier breath, start hitting the front of the rim on free throws that kind of stuff. It is almost always starts towards the end of the first half.

Seriously, do you have a digital camera? I'd love some fans' eye views of the place , the crowd, and the game.

Oh, great trip. I made that trip last year. If you have time I reccomend that you drive up to Estes Park (possibly the most beautiful place I have ever been) to see the Stanley Hotel, and DEFINATELY go to Colorodo Springs to see the Garden of the Gods. Pike's Peak is also in CO Springs as well as the Air Force academy (all well worth the hour's drive).

I haven't seen many Sunbelt campuses, but I can't imagine any other Sunbelt school having a more beautiful campus than DU. The mountains are in the backdrop and thier arena looks like a convernted church. Just gorgeous. Anyway, you're right about attendance. I imagine that it would be worse this year than last.

The DU students were heckling us last year calling us hillbillies etc. (the standard stuff) and I stood up and yelled back at them "YOUR CROWD SUCKS!!!!" They had this stunned look on thier face like 'oh, we didn't know.' They didn't heckle us the whole rest of the game. :shhh: Anyway, I have the game on dvd, it was right at the beginning of the second half. They showed Darrin Horn and Paul Sanderford's reaction to me yelling that. They got a chuckle out of it. Which gave me a chuckle.

Next to FIU, it has to be one of the worst attendance. Our game is actually going to be an auxiliary gym because of the hockey game that night.

Oh man, that sucks. Thier main arena is attractive if a little small. No doubt about it hockey is thier thing out there. LaCrosse comes #2. They are a horrible fit for the Sunbelt in a lot of ways.

Anyway, have fun Galo, make some noise for all of us!

I won't be out in Denver long enough to do all that, it's a business trip actually. My goal is to hit Breckenridge on Sunday. That'll be about all the leisure I'll have.

I was at the Denver game last year. I don't remember their fans giving us too hard of a time. I was right behind our team bench. I have it on DVD too, you can see me a couple times.

Their campus is pretty, but I can think of a prettier one in the SBC.... WKU!

I was right behind the bench also... you're not the guy that gave us our tickets are you??? I had purchased the tickets off of the alumni association and when I got there they didn't have our tickets at the box office so they took me up to a guy and he gave us a couple of tickets... was that you? I was there with a friend of mine that lives out in Denver. We were also on tv there.

Our campus is beautiful, Galo but I am a sucker for those mountains.

Oh, and I can't believe I almost forgot. None of them were wearing any DU gear but this one student over there was wearing a Duke shirt. It was hilarious.
