Middle Tennessee, Georgia Tech agree to football series

Middle Tennessee and Georgia Tech have agreed in principle to a three-year football deal, including a home game for the Blue Raiders in 2011.

Middle Tennessee will play at Georgia Tech?s Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on Oct. 16, 2010, and Sept. 8, 2012.

In addition to the Yellow Jackets traveling to Middle Tennessee?s Floyd Stadium Sept. 24, 2011, the Blue Raiders will also play host to Memphis in the same year as part of a five-game deal with the Tigers.

The three-game contact with Georgia Tech has not yet been finalized, but the two schools have already agreed to the terms. Middle Tennessee athletic director Chris Massaro said, ?The two schools have been in serious negotiations.?

It will be the first meeting between Middle Tennessee and Georgia Tech.

In a little more than a year, the Blue Raiders have secured non-conference home games against Louisville (2006, at Coliseum in Nashville), Tennessee Tech (2006), Virginia (2007), Maryland (2008), Memphis (2009, 2011) and Georgia Tech (2011).
