Uncovered a rock today in my back yard. Saw a bunch of them. They are on their way!!

It must suck to be a cicada. Imagine being a little kid for all your life for 17 years, living underground, only to come up to the surface, suddenly become an adult, have kids, and die, in a matter of a few months.

So, what's the best way to end their misery? HMM already suggested a baseball bat.

Actually pulling their heads off is even more fun. Especially since their bodies still move around. I think my bbq is going to get some action too.

I can see it now. While tailgating this fall HMM breaks out a freezer bag full of beheaded cicadas, tosses 'em on the bbq, sticks toothpics in 'em and displays them invitingly on a tray as hor'deurves ;-) .

i cant wait to see the damn bugs fly into a huge fire....My dad was telling me that last time they were up, hundreds of these damn things were attracted by the fire and just flew in.
