Both JC and Kennedy had some great things to say in this article.
Here is what the Record Courier said today:
Chris Singletary is back.
The Kent State freshman returned to practice Friday after spending almost two weeks away from the team to work out a personal problem.
"Part of my job id always doing what is best for the young men in our program," said Kent State coach Jim Christian. "We are happy to have Chris back, and we are looking forward to moving on to the rest of the season with him."
The 6-foot-3 Chicago native averaged 6.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in nine games before taking a leave of absence that saw him miss the Flashes last four games. KSU won two games in Singletary's absence.
Ironically, Singletary played his best game in a KSU uniform before leaving the team, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench in a nationally-televised 79-72 loss at Duke University Dec. 19.
Singletary will be back in uniform for KSU's next game Sunday at Miami University.
"You never want to give up on a young man, in particular a young man like Chris Singletary who has so much potential both on and off the court," said KSU athletic director Laing Kennedy. "The coaches, the team and the administrative staff all worked to support Chris and to keep moving forward ... The way this was handled is a tribute to the family environment we have here.
