This is so funny! I'm rolling. I've been rolling every morning I read this in the Beacon! I mean, Akron has had felons, drug dealers, drug adicts, theifs, rehab facilities, etc living all within a block of campus! Heck, your stadium is in prime gang teritory! I have some of the gangsters in my class. Now a couple of people with criminal records live in a dorm, its a huge media event!

Soon? Dude, that happened in 1970! Yes, I don't care about the whole May 4th crap. I wasn't even alive! So, I pretty much did forget about it. Mostly because I was never there 36 years ago!
And yes, I have been down Lincoln St. In October. I worked at a Boys and Girls Club there too. I parked my car there and nothing was stolen from it. However, I park my car out of BW3 on Exchange last weekend and my tire got slashed. Like I say, ghetto. Apparently, Akron started recruiting right from Oriana House.

In the 90's, I can't remember the year, there was this guy who killed a janitor and wounded a student while changing class during night school.

The cops ended up dusting his a$$ in the back yard of a house on Lincoln street after he terrorized the KSU campus for about a month....I know, I was there.

Yeah, and if you also read the paper, you would also find that not even your high and mighty Kent checks the backgrounds of students before they are assigned dorms...so they same thing can happen in most schools.

I don't hate anyone. I love Kent State, my mom is a graduate from there. I don't like the way Akron handles its school or academics, so when it's time to send my kids to school, Akron won't be on the list.

It's okay, we aren't rooming kids up with convicted felons at YSU. Nor are we putting kids in bad neighbor hoods like Akron did to my friends. Thank god you have Canal Park there, there's no telling how bad of shape the city of Akron would be without that.
