A topic....
on ESPN.com's message board for the cleveland browns says that Frye is bad and draft Troy Smith cause he comes for tOSU lmfao
What was even worse was he compared Frye to Big Ben and said Frye is worse because he played in the MAC!!! Some Akron fans need to get over there and set this guy in his place.

under the topic: PLEASE DRAFT TROY SMITH
"charlie frye is a solid back up at best. i've seen enough to make my judgement on him. i dont care how much potential the coaches think he has because that has translated into nothing on the field. he hasn't made it through one game this year with out turning the ball over. Ben R. threw 3 picks today but still managed to come up with 2 td(s). charlie is struggling. he faced weak opponents in college playing in the MAC and he just cant compete in the NFL. troy has played his best games against the best teams. i dont want to hear any talk about being 6 foot either. he's a game breaker and he would give the browns a better chance of winning than charlie any day of the week. draft troy and use the rest of our picks on O and D linemen. our defense is the only thing keeping us in games. braylon is coming along nicely and kellon is an absolute beast. with a healthy o line troy would turn this offense around. even when the o-line gives charlie the protection he needs all he does is telegraph his passes and throw picks, or scramble around until he fumbles the ball. every time i think he's improving i'm slapped in the face by reality. stop blaming the o line, our offense sucks because the qb sucks, period. draft troy and let charlie back him up"

Frye is not an NFL starting QB. He's not the answer for Cleveland. He's never beaten Ben R. Of course, behind that offensive line, who could...

You just contradicted yourself.
How in the world can you judge Frye when he has played behind an OL like that?
The answer for Frye is to get an O line...then we'll see what he can do.

Because I've seen his arm enough times and his decision making to know it's not up to par. Honestly, if Tim Couch had this current team instead of the 1999-2000 teams, this team would have a better record than it does now.

You're really reaching with that one. There's no way you would know how Tim Couch would do with the current team.
Frye is still inexperienced. He has the skills. Once he gains the experience behind a decent line, he'll be just fine.
Enough of the hypotheticals already.

Enough with the hypotheticals? Come on. I'm a Browns fan. It's all I have. You're right, I don't know Couch would be better. It's just my conjecture. But inexperience doesn't account for the 2-3 ducks he throws every game or the inexplicable decision making he comes up with sometimes.

...or the fact that he is on his 2nd coordinator who calls those shots nor the fact that he has finally learned to throw the ball away rather than force something that isn't there? How many top-ranked college QB's have gone on to be spectacular in the NFL recently? How many "average" MAC QBs are starting for NFL franchises?! A MAC QB comes with a set mentality that they have to work hard to get better AND they most likely come from programs that don't go undefeated. They are used to going into games like Akron vs. Purdue, or Penn State and a huge crowd against them and performing. Those are some of the reasons Charlie will be good. Sure, he may not be enshrined in Canton someday, but he won't fizzle like Tim Couch!

You are judging too soon my friend.
Any opinion of Frye's capabilities at this stage are premature.
If you are right, it's only a guess.
Let's give him some time. I have faith in Savage and Frye.
Peace

I'm old enough to remember when folks said the same about Elway. The kid needs time. Oh yeah, and an OL.
