Should be an interesting year. I think ULM and ULL will both finish higher than predicted. A very even field this year and should be fun to follow.

Nah, MT bounces back, Troy St upsets UNT but loses to MT, MT squeeks by UNT, but loses one ohter Sunbelt game...So:
MT

Actually I see NT winning it all again. We expect our FB team to be better than last years. All but a couple of offensive players return (FB and 1 lineman gone) and PATRICK COBBS RETURNS. Cobbs was just the # 1 rusher in US last year with 152.73 ypg and US's leading scorer with 11.45 pts.
It is now public knowledge that Brandon Kennedy played last year with an ankle injury that will cause surgery. Michael Pruitt...the All American DT from NE has shown that he can more than handle that position...Awasom and Cardwell return as DL starters and another NEO transfer from last year Eli Hutchinson will be awasom at the other DE position.

Be kinda hard for Troy State to "upset" North Texas. We don't play! :ninja:

Assuming your right, the in conference records would look something like this...
MT 8-0
UNT 7-1
Troy St. 6-2
UL 6-2
NMSU 4-4
USU 4-4
ASU 3-5
ULM 2-6
Idaho 1-7
This would be a HUGE improvement over the past couple of years because that would mean a full 4 members would have to have winning records, Personally though, I think USU will stay about that middle ground, NMSU will drop, ASU will move up over them and I see ULM winning atleast 3 conference games this year. I also think my cajuns have what it takes to compete, and talking to players, they definitly feel the same way. I do feel, UL/TSU/UNT/MT will be a good nucleus at the top of the conference this year. Unfortunatly for Idaho, I think this is gonna be a terrible year. New coach with a very young and inexperianced team could turn into a very bad situation up there in Moscow.

It'll be interesting to see what transpires with the Raiders. The biggest plus is an addition by subtraction kind-of-thing. Hines has run out of eligibility and either of the two back-ups at QB from last year were better QBs last year, IMHO, than Hines, who in his two years maybe had three games where he looked like a 1A QB, but the rest of the time he was extremely inconsistent. At times last year the only person in Floyd Stadium who wanted Hines behind center was the head coach.
My main concerns are the offensive line (who's the center???) and as always the secondary - though overall I think our defense will continue to improve.

Mean Green61,
Sorry, i thought you guys played...My predictions was really just me trying to stay positive...I will say that I think UNT does come back strong as ever and maybe better...MT should be better with Hines gone and with us recruiting 9 DB's between JUCO's and fresh recruits. I'm not certain about anyone else...USU spanked us last year, but to win the conference a team has to beat several teams and I don't know if they can do that...I agree sith Space Raider though...Having Hines gone should help a lot...He just didn't seem to have any consistency...He did shine at times though. I think this year will be the most competitive year that UNT has seen so far.

Let us not forget.
North Texas, Troy State, and Utah State all play brutal road games against several BC$ schools that I believe will have these teams battered, beaten, and so badly injured they will not be able to recover by the time the Sun Belt season starts.
Troy opens up with Marshall on the road, Missouri at home, and then South Carolina on the road. In addition to the conference slate, TSU also plays at defending national champ LSU, before playing us. The last time Troy played a schedule this brutal they finished 5-7 on the season with a season ending home loss in their newly rennovated Movie Gallery Stadium to a 4-8 Utah State team.
Utah State travels to Alabama and Clemson in addition to every single Sun Belt from Louisiana and Arkansas eastward. They'll be lucky to match last year's win totals.
The closest game marginally between MTSU and North Texas was played in Denton in 2001 and MTSU was led by a vibrant southpaw. UNT gets too comfortable at home and plays more lax at Fouts Field. Consider this: Middle Tennessee truthfully is two plays away from being 2-1 against North Texas instead of 0-3.

I think that my SuperUnderDog pick for the year is Troy St. over South Carolina...

This year in the SunBelt could be wide open especially if injuries pop up in the non-conference schedule.
We will need to make sure our defense is strong especially in the LB area.
Favorites should be UNT (until someone beats us), Troy State, and MTSU.
