I saw of the rivals web site were they had the cajuns looking at 3 players from Texas.

Joel Bosh 6-7 190 Dallas Lincoln
Jerayle Franklin 6-4 188 Bay City
Eric Dawson 6-8 215 from a J.C. in Waco

I also saw Jessie Evans at a Mckinely high school basketball playoff game, I have to believe that he was looking at Tyrus Thomas 6-8 195 who averaged 16 points 12 Reb. 8 block shots and 7 assist per game. I also heard that the cajuns are after a player from the Orlando area.

Sounds like the coaches are on the ball already looking at players for the future. I hope we can sign a few of them, to help us next year.

Thanks for the update guys. I watched the game Friday morning but I sure was disipointed in the shooting of the cajuns. But any way a lot of people know where the the cajuns are from now. I don't know anything about those Texas guys , but I am sure they must be excellent ball players.
Tyrus Thomas 6-8,220 from McKinley is a real good prospect, but the best recruit is Martin Zeno 6-5 190, from Sulphur. Another player from La. is David Gomez6-7 225 center that played for Episcopal.
What about Wilson Leblanc 6-5 260 from Cecilia that played center.

Keep up the good news and good luck next year Cajuns.

Another player that the cajuns are recruiting is Trey Hopkins 6-2 170 from Dr. Phillips high school in Orlando. I know that the cajuns have been on this guy since the early period, and I think that the cajuns have an excellent shot to sign this player. This information about Hopkins comes from the Dr. Phillips website.
11 TREY HOPKINS
Senior

6'2" 170 lbs

Guard

2002-03 Statistics

19.9 ppg (at Cypress Creek H.S.)

2003-04 Statistics

14.1 ppg 4.4 rpg 4.1 apg 2.1 spg 38% 3 PT FG%

Entering his first season at Dr. Phillips...Led Cypress Creek H.S. last season in scoring...A teammate of NBA Rookie of the Year Amarie Stoudamire as a sophomore...One of the top ten scorers in the Metro Conference last season....Started along with Jason Rich on Nike Team Florida last summer.

Coach Long's comments on Trey Hopkins..."Trey is a great shooter and defender. He will definitely take our team to a higher level. Teams won't be able to sell out on Jason, because if they do Trey will hurt them with both his shooting and ability to penetrate. He can and will play multiple positions as well which is a nice option to have as a coach. He's one of the best guards in the Metro Conference. I'm real excited to see how good we can be with Trey in the lineup. He'll be an asset defensively as well. He's probably our best on ball defender."

Sounds like the kind of player we'll need next year to replace Brad. Hope it works out and we get him.

The Cajuns are recruiting 6-3 G Derek Gray from Jennerette and Tyrus thomas 6-8,220 PF. Neither are eligible right now.

Gomez has signed with Tulane. Zeno with Texas Tech. Wilson Leblanc is not considered a prospect.

Jessie needs to get great talent in here, but also talent that will see the court. If Jessie continues to have problems with getting players eligible, then something will have to be done to control this problem.

Coach Evans can get better prospects and he should see that they are eligible. A better student makes a better player on the floor. I think I know of some goog players up here ,but I don't know if they are eligible.
