LAFAYETTE – Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns softball team will end the month of March with its highest ranking of the season and highest ever under head coach Stefni Lotief.
The Ragin’ Cajuns (30-4) continued to move up among the nation’s elite, taking over the No. 7 spot in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 Poll, after going 2-0 last week.
Louisiana is ranked ahead of Washington, Stanford, Michigan, Alabama and Tennessee and is the highest ranked team in the NCAA Midwest Region after surpassing Oklahoma.
Louisiana began the season ranked No. 8 in the poll and was ranked eighth prior to last week’s poll – which at the time was its highest ranking.
UL received 366 votes and moved up two spots from the No. 9 spot it held last week.
