I would say the coaches have done a great job in this area

Eric Rekieta, QB 2002
Travis Bass, DE 2003
George Benson, DT 2003
Darryl Blappert, DT 2003
C.C. Brown, SS 2003
Travis Cones, FB 2003
Ed Fane, OL 2003
Ken Haynes, DL 2003
Kemmie Lewis, WR 2003
Joe Scott, LB 2003
Antwain Spann, DB 2003
Rickey Thomas, DB 2003

Only 1 out of 12 of these JC players did not contribute to the program and 8 out of the 12 are still with the team (Rekieta and Blappert graduated, Benson was kicked off the team, Scott never played for the Cajuns and transfered to Jackson State). It was believed when Blappert signed that he had 2 years of eligiblity left but it turned out he only had 1. Imagine how deep DT would be if Blappert and Benson were still with the team. Out of all these players Rekieta has to be the best on offense and Brown the best on defense.

I think we have some good players coming in from the juco area. I think they will play a major role b/c of the depth at some of the position that we recruited.
