Dru Joyce
I am not an Akron fan but I also am not such a fanatic that I can't appreciate a good basketball team when I see one. I do have one question of the Zip fans. Is it just me or could you do much better than Dru Joyce as your point guard. I know he is a local kid and therefore we all have a tendency to look with rose colored glasses, but I see a solid but dull point guard. I think he is in the bottom half of the league. Not saying you have any one better but I sure would try to find someone with some spark. I think his style really hurt you at the end of the game against Toledo. Am I wrong or do Zip fans see the same thing.

It's hard to criticize a PG who is leading the MAC in ast/TO ratio. I'm glad to have him. I think he plays a bit out of control at times, but that seems to be the opposite of what you're saying. I don't think you'd feel this way if you had seen more Akron games.

Interesting. I guess my comments apply to the end of games where he seems almost "too cool". The sense of urgency seems to be lacking. Or maybe he can't go into a higher gear. I agree with you that I haven't seen that many Akron games but in the Toledo game at the Q last Friday that is what I saw.

Yes, Dru came up big at the end against Temple. Two critical drives helped seal it. Hope he comes up as big in Omaha tonight!

The thing about Dru is that you never know what you're going to get night after night. Mostly it's good, but when Dru has an off game, we're screwed.
That said, he is a playmaker, often, at the end of games. He doesn't shirk from it, and it's hard to find players with that mentality.

OK. It sounds like I have just seen him in a couple of bad games. Not being a big time Akron fan I will have to say I am probably wrong overall

Now i don't know what to think. Against Creighton he failed to score, but he had 14 assists. AGGGHH!!!
