Sheets will be making his second All Star Game Appearance.

MONROE - Despite tossing eight innings on Saturday, former Louisiana-Monroe pitcher Ben Sheets is scheduled to toss one inning for the National League in Tuesday's Major League Baseball All Star Game in Houston, Texas.
Sheets, who will be playing in his second All Star Game, is 9-5 with a 2.26 ERA for the Milwaukee Brewers this season. He has made 18 appearances and starts, recording 133 strikeouts while walking 19 in 123.1 innings pitched.
He played for ULM from 1997-1999 before being drafted in the first-round of the MLB Amateur draft by the Brewers. He earned First-Team All-Southland Conference honors in 1998 and 1999 and was voted the SLC and LSWA Player of the Year in 1999. He finished his ULM career ranked third in wins (26), fourth in strikeouts (283), eighth in appearances (57), and seventh in innings pitched (239.0). He won a school record 14 games (one loss) in 1999 and ranks second on the single season innings pitched (115.2) list.
Sheets led ULM to the 1999 SLC Regular Season title and an NCAA Regional. He was the winning pitcher in the 2000 Olympics Gold Medal Baseball Game.
