I'm hoping FIU releases the future schedules too. Although I do know that next season FIU will play Texas Tech and Kansas State, both on the road.

Yep. That's what our schedule shows and I do believe that our 2005 schedule has been finalized. The Alabama, Temple, and Vandy contracts have already been sealed. I doubt the conference office would change the conference portion of the schedule either.

Because many Sun Belt schools already have finalized contracts with OOC opponents, there's really not much room for moving around conference games. I don't see why they'd need to anyways.

BTW, I'll be in Troy this year and next year provided the schedule remains as is!

Arkansas State @ Georgia 09/03/05 Cancelled per ASU athletic director.

Arkansas State @ LSU 11/05/05 Game moved to 09/11/04

Arkansas State @ Missouri 09/02/06 Game moved to Kansas City in 2005. Some talk that Missouri may attempt to enter into a new contract to play ASU on 09/02/06 to fill the opening.

Thanks for that update, I should have caught that LSU game since I (now) remember reading about that schedule change for this year.

Well from what has been released from other schedules so far, this is what I have come up with:

Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 - FIU @ Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock, TX
[Image: icon21.gif] vs [Image: icon29.gif]
Saturday, Nov. 12, 2005 - FIU vs. Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at "The Cage" (Miami, FL)
[Image: icon21.gif] vs [Image: icon23.gif]
Saturday, Nov. 19, 2005 - FIU vs. Florida Atlantic Owls at "The Cage" (Miami, FL)
[Image: icon21.gif] vs [Image: icon30.gif]

Hopefully we'll get some more news soon 04-cheers

Quote:FIU plans to play Kansas St. in football in 2005

Staff and wire reports
Posted April 10 2004
Officials from Kansas State and Florida International confirmed they have agreed in principle to football games in 2005 and 2006. Both games would be played at KSU Stadium.
"We have talked, agreed in principle, but have not consummated it yet," Jim Epps, K-State senior associate athletic director, told the Kansas City Star. "I hope it happens."
FIU coach Don Strock said he's excited about the opportunity to play K-State.
"We understand they are in the upper echelon. They can be a great measuring stick for where we want to be headed," Strock said. "The guys are awfully excited to play someone with a national reputation."
FIU also plans to play Texas Tech in 2005, Alabama in 2006 and 2009 and Iowa in 2008, according to the report in the Star.
"We're building a program. Obviously, it's a lot easier for us to recruit when we're playing teams like Kansas State than if we were playing a Division I-AA," Strock said.
Sounds good to me! 04-cheers

I hope the UL Indians aren't headed to MTSU again next year. I can't remember the last time y'all came to Monroe. It seems we have come there a lot recently. Actually I think the last time y'all came was the first ever SBC game.

Unless something changes before then the conference office released a tentative conference schedule for next year and Louisiana-Monroe will visit Middle Tennessee.

That's okay, we have to go to Troy this year and according to the future schedules, next year as well.

I think you'll see every Sun Belt team will have to adjust that way with the sudden reshuffling due to the losses of Idaho, Utah State, and New Mexico State.

By the way, you are correct. The last time Middle Tennessee played in Monroe was on September 22, 2001 in the first year of the Sun Belt's existence. Middle Tennessee and ULM did not face each other last year, however, making the series of home and away even with two games in Monroe (1999 and 2001) and two games in Murfreesboro (2000 and 2002).

MTSU's 2006 schedule does show the Raiders going on the road to ULM, North Texas, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Arkansas State. Also some non-conference tilts on the road against Vanderbilt and Ball State. In 2006 so far only four home games are scheduled against UAB, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, and Troy University.

The Lafayette paper today said we open 2005 at Texas, and have a home game against Tulsa and an away game against Eastern Michigian (part of a 4 game series).
