Quote:2004 SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE FOOTBALL TELEVISION SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
Eight regional and national games highlight broadcast schedule
Southland Conference football teams will be included in a total of eight regional and national television broadcasts, as the 2004 schedule of telecasts was announced Wednesday during the league's annual football media days.
Longstanding television partner Fox Sports Net Southwest will again televise the bulk of the Southland Conference broadcast schedule, with five games live on the regional network that serves nearly eight million cable television households in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and portions of New Mexico.
"We are very pleased with our continued relationship with Fox Sports Net Southwest, and excited about the quality of games we have scheduled," Southland commissioner Tom Burnett said. "Fox Southwest provides the Southland with a tremendous household reach in our region of the country, and the production qualities are second to none. Fox Southwest is a great partner for the Southland Conference."
Also, the five games scheduled for Fox Sports Net Southwest will be televised live by Fox College Sports, the new national digital network available in three million television households.
The five games set for Fox are the Sept. 11 matchup featuring Southeastern Louisiana at McNeese State, the Montana at Sam Houston game on Sept. 18, the Oct. 9 Florida Atlantic at Texas State contest, the Oct. 21 Northwestern State at Nicholls State game, and the Nov. 13 McNeese at Stephen F. Austin tilt.
Also, for the second straight year, Southland football will be featured as part of College Sports Television's I-AA National Game of the Week with the Oct. 16 McNeese State at Northwestern State contest. CSTV serves over 20 million cable and satellite television homes from coast to coast.
"We are excited that CSTV has chosen what is always one of the most anticipated matchups in the Southland Conference," Burnett added. "You can just about count on the McNeese-Northwestern game to play a big part in helping determine the Southland title. And, with its usual national playoff implications, this should be a great show for the league."
The Southland has again partnered with Cox Sports Television to televise live the Nov. 20 Nicholls State at McNeese State game. In addition, as a part of Southeastern Louisiana's Cox arrangement, the Sept. 25 home game against Sam Houston State will be televised on a tape-delay basis.
"Cox Sports Television is an up-and-coming regional network, and we are thrilled to be involved," Burnett said. "The network has provided a great outlet for our Louisiana institutions, and we watch its growth with tremendous interest."
Sat., Oct. 9, 12:30 p.m., Florida Atlantic at Texas State, Fox Sports Net Southwest & Fox College Sports
Kudos to my SBC rival brethren

Hopefully we won't be lulled into a deep sleep like last year
It was only 7-6 at half time. They were winning!!!!!!
We finally woke up and put points on the board for a 27-14 final score. The 4th Qtr was another snooze fest for our offense. Almost like we were trying to keep it interesting for the fans :frown:
Our Defense shut their running game down. Their passing game tried but also came up short.
I hope we get in the habit of putting teams away this year if we have the chance. Our OC has to be more consistant and aggressive.
Thanks for the support.
