So far this has been the worst season since I could remember. Just hope a great coach and the best recruiting class in Temple history ever will be on the Temple sideline next year!!!! On to UVA. Good game MU; the MAC sure has some teams that can play.

Go Owls!!!!

It was so bad, that I did not use a single one of my season tickets. Why waste the time/ I considered the money as a tything to the athletic department. The selection of the next coach will determine whether I still contimue to thythe.

Finally, it's over. The slip and falls inside the 10 before the blocked FG and of course the block itself were brutal against Navy. Until then, I thought we had a shot. Time to block out the past 12 weeks and pray for Harbaugh. 04-drinky 04-drinky 04-drinky

Wow, you guys are horrible. And why the hell did we even invite you in to play football in the MAC with us? You make us look worse than we already are. 03-banghead Bad Choice by Ryck Cryst. :chair: I mean atleast we should have your basketball team in the MAC if your football team gets to ruin our leauge, your basketball team would help us. But it was stupid we invited you.

i know it looks bad now but how could we possibly recruit over the last five years

1 we did not have a good pactice facility (now we have Edberg Olsen Hall.
2. we had a focus (slowcus) Group that took seven months to decide if we were even going to have a program two years ago put together by the new president of the university. Two players left because we were unable to recruit and also looking at the schedule put together by our assinine AD Bill (i don't have a Clue how to run a division one football program) Bradshaw

3. we did not know if we were going to be in the MAC conference.

4. our coach was in the last year of his contract and most knew it wouldn't be renewed unless he performed a miracle.

5. we started the season by losing our QB in previous year and our starting running back Tim brown and seven other players before the start of the season due to an athletic miscalculation on grades.

6 the president has instituted a new system of reviewing new recruits that are coming in with less then the school incoming scores and GPA.

at one point with three games to go, we only had 48 scholarship players left on our roster.

i went to our awards banquet and the underclassman see the oppurtunity in front of us in joining the MAC. A new head coach should be added within the next few weeks so we can finally recruit. we still have perhaps ther toughest schedule of anybody in the MAC conference by far next year, but it is easier from the clueless ad bradshaw standards.

and finally we are changing our new head of the board of trustees for the school this summer. normally this also comes with selection of a new president and with him will go hopefully his lapdog AD Bill Bradshaw.

Look out!!! Next year, we will be more competitive and in the future, we plan on winning the MAC, not just competing.

as for our basketball programs coming in, i wish we did. our AD squashed that, citing travel costs of non revenue sports. i know he cannot see the clearing between the trees and he is scared of upsetting Chaney and Dawn Staley if he makes that decision.

good luck and keep improving in hoops.

PA OWL...

Nicely said. Could not have said it better myself. If only ignorant individuals, such as chris4rockets, would understand that no other program in the country has had to go through what Temple has gone through in the past five years. Further, to realize Temple football is where they are for the reasons PA OWL just listed on this forum.

TEMPLE FOOTBALL will be a MAC power before you know it. GO TEMPLE! Cannot wait to see who our next coach will be.

Good luck MAC teams that are going bowling!

Toledo, didn't you lose to central michigan? Don't you have one of the softest schedules in the country? Please, don't talk unless you can actually prove every MAC conference team has had it as tough as TEMPLE this year. We look bad, but top 10 toughest schedule in the country has a lot to do with that!

TempleOwl21 it will be better soon.

i can understand why other people in the MAC don't understand why we will become a better program. they areonly hearing what writers write and it is easy for writers to kick a team when it is down. Writers used to kick Northwestern, saying they could never win, same thing for Iowa State and Kansas State. Who would have thought that Boise State would become what they have over the last ten years.

If i was only going by what the writers and radio commentaters like Jim Rome say about us i would agree with them too, but we knoew better.

we know that the campus is becoming revitalized.

we know they have finished campus stores and are in the process of adding a new store front next to campus with a new multi house movie theater for the neighborhood as well as Temple.

we know that more dorms are still being built and there is a waiting list for dorm space.

Temple is going from a commuter school to more of a residential university. More students on campus and we can tell they are enrgized, just look how they came out for our opener against army in basketball. The students who are going to games are our future alumni and they will support our football program if we show strides toward winning.

best of luck and it is great to have fans like you Templeowl21.

Keep the faith.

Also lets go MAC win those bowl games!!!

Your schedule was tough no doubt. We won't have a fair comparison until you get to play a couple of years in a MAC schedule. Hang in there. We know what it is like to go from the pits to the top. It takes time, the right head coach, and an administration that sticks with the coach like ours did.

hopefully we will have new coach in soon. write nw our roster is depleted and we need to build it with recruiting. we already have missed out on many this season. Our only hope is that he steals a few, and we survive a pretty tough scedule next year.

typical Temple though. slow to select a new coach.

Temple could quickly move to the middle of the MAC pack with a good recruiting year or two.

Three key things I'm watching regarding Temple in the off-season.

1) New Coach. Yes, I know, obvious. But that will really set the tone for the program moving forward. I like Harbaugh - big name would generate excitement.

2) Recruiting class. Wallace, in the worst of situations as PA Owl outlined, brought in a lot of JUCOs and a lot of kids who had no D-IA options other than Temple. The new coach's first recruiting class will tell us a lot about where he wants to take this program.

3) The schedule. And this is where it gets really interesting, I think. Temple is due for, I think, four MAC teams next year. My guess is the MAC will look to help some of its teams fill in their OOC schedules in this manner. On the upside, BG & UT have full slates, if memory serves.

I'm guessing that Temple draws, say, Kent, Buffalo and Eastern Michigan as three of their games, giving the Owls three legitimate winnable games in 2006. And if they get them at The Linc, I'll probably go down to see it.

Anyway, interesting times ahead. I was very adamant about not wanting Temple in the MAC. But now that the deal is done, I want the Owls to turn things around. It'd be good for the conference.

Sorry but alot of us think Temple will be a bottom feeder. It has a bad history and little positive in the future to look forward to. Eastern is not a winnable game for you as they are a much better program. The other 2 bottom feeders are but Buff was another bad addition to the MAC. Basketball would have been the only redeemer to this deal. I see a lot of whining for a program in a Major metro area playing in an NFL stadium with a high profile BBall team. I don't see alot of excuses for not being decent...and you are not.

I hope you improve. I just don't see it.

I'm pretty sure we have 6 MAC games next year - Buffalo being one.

Kamuohio - you haven't a clue if you don't see reasons for our problems. They trickled down from shoddy leadership/commitment at the top through the 90's - no doubt. But getting booted from the Big East, not declaring you are going to remain Div I-A until two weeks before national signing day, and recruiting without a conference commitment easily creates a doomsday scenario. Add that to a schedule designed to make up for lost Big East money and you have the disaster that was.

Those factors are all gone now. If Golden comes in as coach - we will be relevant soon, and maybe even very good by '09.

Go Owls.

it is finally over. Espn reported overnight that the new head coach at temple is Golden, the defensive coordinater of Virginia. we are glad as he was a heavy recruiter in the DC Virginia area plus he was also at Penn State and has ties to the Pensylvainia recruiting.

now it is time to start turning the program around and i hear the schedule may even be better then what is out there.

Best of wishes to all future MAC brethren. Have a nice holiday and kick butt in basketball. i wish we were in for all sports, but sadly we are not. That is the real way to create rivalries, by playing teams in more than one sport. I am sure AD Bradshaw ( Adamany's boy) and President Adamany (both are not great for Temple Athletics in general) really care.
