The final moments of the Troy game they stated there would be a high school game played there on Friday? How does Troy share the stadium?
Does Movie Gallery own the stadium are just the name rights? If the name rights expire when and can those rights be sold again?
How was it paid for?

In the Birmingham News- Troy officals stated that Iowa State wants another home game next year. Iowa State may back out of coming to Troy? ESPN has a way of putting pressure on teams to make TV.

If Troy can expand it's basketball gym, they would be a prime choice to change league.

Will NMSU be ready to play next game against Troy are forfeit?

Go Blazers maybe we can beat FSU and get a On Campus Stadium someday.

The stadium was paid for by the University, the city of Troy, and Movie Gallery put out $5 million for the naming rights. I'm not sure, but aside from Movie Gallery's contribution, I think the amounts were even. The stadium is on Troy's campus and the University is the primary tennant. Charles Henderson High School is adjacent to the campus and less than a block from the stadium, and they play their home games at the 'The Stadium' which I'm told is a big deal for them. High School games are played on Friday, college games are played on Thursdays and Saturdays, so it is no big deal, especially since the turf can't be worn out. Track and field 'olympic' sports have a new separate location now as well, making MGVS a football-only facility. If there is an expiration date for naming rights I don't think it would come up for at least 20 years as Movie Gallery is paying out the $5 million in $250,000/year installments.

I believe the City of Troy and Troy University jointly own the stadium. The city was a major source of funding for the last expansion, to 17,500 seats.

Charles Henderson High School, Troy's only public high school, plays its home games at Movie Gallery. I'm not sure how Friday's game was played without a goal post. Perhaps an extra was on hand, following last year's double post take-down. The cops really protected the other post on Thursday night. They didn't flinch, even as thousands of screaming fans ran right at them.

Movie Gallery bought the naming rights for $5 million, payable over many (20?) years.

>>In the Birmingham News- Troy officials stated that Iowa State wants another home game next year. Iowa State may back out of coming to Troy? ESPN has a way of putting pressure on teams to make TV.<<

I heard this rumor, but people close to the situation have posted that the home game at Troy is still on. AD Johnny Williams was quoted as saying he is pursuing home games with team such as Miami, UCF and others likely to draw large crowds. Miami is playing at La. Tech this week. UCF was supposed to come to Troy last year, but backed out to gain a game with Penn State or Pitt. The Knights owe us one, as does UAB. Southern Miss., La. Tech, South Florida, Georgia Tech (former TSU coach) and even FSU would make good visitors. TU travels to FSU next year and Florida the following year.

Williams has said publicly that Trojan Arena, which seats 4,000 to 5,000, is next to be replaced or rebuilt. I heard rumors about a Belmont-like arena holding 8,000 to 10,000 people.

The baseball and softball venues are nice and new.

Go Trojans!
