Ok, this should be interesting.. but honestly something I've been thinking about. Since WKU isn't 1-A (yet), but I do follow my otherwise Sun Belt brothers in football.. I need a dog to cheer for...

SO.. I need people tell me who I should "adopt". But you got to give me a good reason... best/most creative reason wins and gets my support for the 2004 season! Right now I have no favorite.

This should be interesting.

how about the Cajuns? Improving team, good coach, cool nickname, great tailgating and you could have that love/hate relationship. Love us in football, hate us in basketball 03-wink :D

This may sound a little odd, but just hear me out. Cheer for us all. I know you do already, but as a conference, we need all the support we can get. We don't need someone on the outside to cheer for one team in particular. When it comes time for our representative to play in the New Orleans Bowl, all the other teams in the Belt cheer for them, as I'm sure you would Jeff. I just think that you should cheer for us all as a group. Follow every game with just a little bit less of the passion that you follow your Toppers with (so you can at least have some energy left for your Toppers).

Maybe its just me, but I think the BS thats flying through my head as I type an opinion paper rough draft due Wednesday is getting to my head. Jeff, I ask that you support us all with as much as you support the Toppers. Buttttttttt if you really don't want to take my opinion and are looking for 1 team to root for, then HOW BOUT THEM CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like Swamp said, program on the up and up, exciting brand of football (Babb had 54 passing attempts against Tech, threw for 324 yards), great food when tailgating before the game, the most recognizable nickname in all of college athletics, etc.

Um can't cheer for EVERYONE when they are playing one another in conference games.... in OOC games, I already cheer for the SBC teams.

Yeah, I'd say your opinion paper is getting pretty deep.

Well...do what I do. Pull against all the teams that are leaving the conference in every single conference game, and outside of that, pull for the underdogs. If ULM is playing ASU, and ULM has a better record than ASU, pull for ASU, it just makes it easy like that.

Just root for Arkansas State.

We beat two of your old friends from the OVC last year and that in itself ought to be enough to keep WKU fans happy.

What will help the conference perception/sag??? Say for instance, Troy is kicking butt OOC but they have some trouble in conference. Is that good or is it better to have them go undefeated and have the media saying a SBC team should be in a bcs bowl? I'll be rooting for whoever helps the perception of the SBC. Just not exactly who that will be from game to game.

04-bow Gotta pull for every Sunbelt tean in ooc play, as I will, yet I would have to pull for the team who has the chance of being ranked or closest to it. 04-bow
