I am. I Shelled out nearly 200 on four tix. I can't wait.

I think the flashes lose a close one, 35-21. Okay, two touchdowns isn't that close, but I don't see a 51-3 type game.

Besides, I plan on being pretty Hammered by kickoff, So reguardless of the score, I will be having a great time .

GO FLASHES!!!
(From loud, rowdy and under the OSU scoreboard)

Apparently no other Kent fans are going.

Proof?...Kent returned 4,000 of their 6,000 allotment of tickets for this game. Real impressive.

Maybe Kent fans aren't going because of the bad reputation of Buckeye fans. Many MAC fans who post on this board have said that C-bus has some of the worst, rudest fans that they have encountered at road games. No one wants to go to a "friendly" game and be abused.

Or, maybe just maybe, KSU FANS DON'T GIVE A RATS A*& ABOUT OHIO STATE! Perish the thought that all of us in Ohio don't bow down to the great scarlet and gray.

GO FLASHES!

Yes, I'm sure that's the reason....Buckeye fans are too rude.

Why pay $45 to see your team beat a rude opponent in their stadium? That must be it. Rude fans. You are correct.

The Flash,

I understand perhaps your frustration towards Ohio State and their program but your reasoning why there were hardly any Kent fans going to the game is not even close.

Now, as some of you may know I was a student-athlete at KSU (track & field) and been around the campus for several years (96-02). During my tenure there, the football program showed little signs of promise and it has been, in my mind, the same story every year. They did show improvement from their season last year, but by no means showed more excitement to the Kent community. The simple reason is that there are hardly ANY Kent football fans in the world today. You are probably one of the few die-hard fans out there and I commend you for that.

You know as well as I know, especially the students, don't pay much attention to the football program at all. Perhaps this is a marketing problem or the simple fact they have not won any kind of title since 1972. Until they put a winning team on the field and play up to par with more quality opponents, then there will be more fans.

Let's be honest here, they got their butt kicked by Ohio State. If Ohio State played their "A" game the entire time, the Buckeyes could have put up 60+ points. This was expected and the players probably expected it. Heck, perhaps half of the players on the Kent squad probably grew up watching Ohio State on TV every Saturday rooting for the Buckeyes. This is a another subject on to itself, but I hope you get my point.

Everyone, including myself, are tired of the excuses every year. Until they put more quality wins on the field year after year (not over New Hampshire) then you will see more fans in the stands and the will for them to travel to see them play against an Ohio State.

At this point, I just don't see anything positive out of losing to Ohio State than perhaps having the Sports Information Directors placing a tag such as "The Golden Flashes played in front of 80,000+ fans at Ohio Stadium." If that's the positive they can write, then you know there is something wrong.

There are only two positives that came from that debacle:

1. $350,000
2. No serious injuries.

Let's hope that Laing Kennedy and the administrative gang can put that money to good use. I'm sure the team had a hell of a party as well on Saturday night over in townhomes after getting their tails kicked back to reality.

By the way, have you heard any new news on their "no tolerance" policy and if it is still in effect this season?

OK the game was not as close as I thought it was going to be. A couple of observations about Saturday:

Clarrett is a freak. He runs as good, if not better, then Eddie George did his first couple of years at OSU.

Our receivers need to do a better job of holding onto the ball. Cribbs hit them in the numbers on several ocasions, and they dropped it.

That stadium does NOT seat 102,000. We were squeezed into our seats like sardines I could hardly move

While I received some good natured ribbing from the OSU fans, overall I did not expierence the
a$$h@les that I have heard about.

I was pleased that Kent did not quit in the second half. They showed periods of good play and they will be fine.

BTW: Is that really all the bigger our band is

GO FLASHES!!!

Being a fan of both the Buckeyes and the Flashes, I had hoped for a much tighter game. Even with the lopsided score, I was encouraged by the heart the Flashes showed-they kept on hitting the entire game even. I think they'll be fine in the MAC. I donned the Blue & Gold for the game and other than good natured teasing, the OSU fans were good hosts. That being said, I've been to a few contests with OSU visiting IU and/or Purdue where I witnessed some pretty boorish behavior by my fellow Buckeye fans.
