I guess if you are an alumn or a student you would be a fan but do any average joe sports fans actually root for the Buffalo Bulls?

I think that's the beauty of these small schools. They don't have a "bandwagon" because nobody usually cares about them. I root for them for that reason alone.

Go Bulls!

Toledo has a good fan base. As does Kent State. East-Cent-Western Michigan rivalry is pretty big up there.

I don't believe you HerdZone. Once the Marshall board starts buzzing, you will have my respect.

[ <img border="0" alt="[NoNo]" title="" src="graemlins/nono.gif" /> ]You may laugh about the Buffalo Bulls--I know I have--but they made some big strides this year. Always in the celler, this year they were pushing .500 and had a very good recruitng year. They will be much tougher next year. Still have a ways to go, but they knocked off a few good teams this past year. And you have to give them some props: along with Indiana in the South Regional Final, they were the only team to beat my Flashes since the first of January.

I find it amusing that anyone would laugh at any division 1 or 2 athelete at all. How many of you who are doing the laughing have played football or basketball at this level. Not everyone is fortuanate enough to get a full ride to an ACC,PAC 10, etc. school. There are alot of athletes at these schools who could play anywhere in the country and as we often see, many athletes at the "big" schools who prove not to belong there when they get there. Alot of luck is involved, along with being talented.

An example: My neighbor(who was a great kid), who was several years younger then me, played basketball at UNC as a full scholarship player for 4 years, he was even on the NCAA title team of '92(i think) the year they beat Michigan. His name was Scott Cherry. If we were playing a pick up game at the park, he wasn't getting picked(still wont to this day), his game was weak. But he had some major connection and an owed favor from the days of Sam Perkins picking UNC, hence, Scott got a full ride to UNC. The local D-3 school here(Skidmore college) would have had Scott coming off the bench, he would not have even started there.

These guys can play, they may not play on great teams, but look at the number of athletes in the NFL or NBA who are from these types of schools. If you can play sports at the college level, NOT INTRAMURALS, you have to be a pretty good athlete.

Buffalo is improving...don't take the Bulls lightly. I have been to the Bulls' stadium and its pretty cool! Nice place except for all the bleacher seats in the one end zone (were built for the World Championship Games a few years ago).

As far as any student athletes in collegiate sports, I don't care if you are the star qb at Fla St or the 3rd string TE at Marietta (Ohio), college sports are college sports. I used to go to Westminster games in Pa when a friend of mine played there (TE who was on the Lions and Bills rosters for a while). There were about 500-1,000 people in the stands but it was still COLLEGE FOOTBALL. Div.1, 2, 3 or NAIA...doesn't matter to me.

Getting back to Buffalo---be ready for the Bulls...they are not a joke! Ask Ohio about that.
