Checked out how the new indoor facility was looking. Very nice! They say it'll be done by 2003! Can't wait for that.

Talk about bringing in the recruits!

Some coaches said the ceiling wouldn't be high enough to punt in, but so far it looks ok to me. You'll definitly be able to kick field goals though, which is a great thing.

What other teams in the MAC have indoor facilities? (Note: This is a serious question, because I actually would like to know) I thought BGSU had one, but I'm not sure.

Somebody fill me in!

Kent has had one since the early 1990s and is used by all of the athletic teams. It also houses the main weight training facilities and an indoor track for that season and training.

I believe that both the Indians and Browns have used it in recent years. It was one of the first in the MAC when it was built. It definately has helped out in baseball. They used to practice in the gym and now can take BP, fielding, etc.

AO,
BGSU has had one now for almost a decade...it sure comes in handy when practicing and the weather isn't very good. Good to see U of A building the facility.

Currently, the following MAC schools have indoor training facilities:

1) Kent St.

2) BGSU

3) CMU

Western Michigan and Akron are presently building facilites. WMU's is scheduled for completion later this year while Akron's is a year out. Toledo is in the initial planning phase of converting its old fieldhouse to an indoor training facility.

Thanks guys!

The new indoor facility is DIRECTLY across from J.A.R. Arena, and beside the natatorium. You can't miss it. It's right in the middle of campus.

Now, what about the JAR? ANything coming up about replacing that? I know Mayor Don P was thinking of an arena downtown but it seems that idea has died, no?

Just Curious. What does the new Akron facility cost? We sure could use one at UCF because during early football season we thunderstorm out practice about 40% of the time. Little chance of coming up with the money though.

J.A.R. Arena has a new floor - that doesn't hurt the players backs like years before. There's spring underneath. And they're putting in a new scoreboard as well! The new floor looks nice.

The indoor facility was pretty expensive..lol
The cost? Well altogether, with all the new stuff thats going on - $200 Million

But the indoor facility alone is beyond me

The indoor facility your building sounds very nice. Ohio is going with the "Bubble" concept. We plan to build an indoor practice bubble over the new Lacrosse field which is the new location of the track. Miami is planning to bubble yeager, but in my opinion it will look stupid as hell, as with everything else in that stadium.
