The kids did not get banged up against the better teams, they got banged up against MAC teams. Bowling Green can beat big time schools ut Akron cant because Owens is a fraud and his staff is a joke. Name ONE coach on this staff who has coached at another D-1A school and has NOT been fired? You cant.

These guys are HIGH SCHOOL COACHES who have never been anywhere and are taking Akron U no where fast.

What the heck is the tradition now - sharing some bull****, mythical co-title with a Marshall team that beat our collective ass on our home field WHEN WE HAD NO DEFENSE OR SPECIAL TEAMS 3 YEARS AGO!?! If you count that as a MAC Title then you are a loser! The Zips did not play in the title game thus they were not champions of anything. By the looks of our lineup now Owens and staff were SATISFIED with being CO-CHAMPS and quit busting their ass recruiting. Owens ran off two defensive coordinators and now that group is beyond repair.

AKRON OBSESSED - you need to get out of denial and wake up because you only have 6 more games of Owens before he gets axed.

Coach Owens and Coach Peterson(now with Miami,OH) both coached at Ohio State, and were not fired. Paul Winters was with Wisconson if I'm not mistaken. Dan Bailey was with Tennessee. Bob Morris(now with Cleveland Browns) was with Purdue(and if my memory is correct Indiana but I'm not sure). I've already named some haven't I?

It is only hard to breathe (not breath) because you are so incredibly dense. Of the 5 coaches you name only two actually are position coaches on the Akron U staff, Winters and Owens. Bailey is the weight coach for ALL sports, not just football. Morris was fired by Owens last season - his third firing in 5 years which is why he is no longer a coach, just a scout. Peterson is not even at Akron U anylonger as he saw the writing on the wall 4 years ago and left to go to Miami. It is sad that you cannot even name more than 2 active Akron U coaches who have significant college coaching experience. Take away Flinn and this is a CYO staff.

Finally, it was Akron U when I graduated from the place and I can call it whatever the hell I want.

and one more thing / Owens is only 4-9 in the last three season after October 1. With losses to come to UCF, Kent, and Marshall the BEST Owens can finish this season is 3-9, and that has Akron U beating Ohio in Athens. But I guess to you that is reason for CYOwens to keep his job.

AO is really the only person that posts here, and he/she is delusional. Never before before has a board name been more appropriate. His/her lack of knowledge, coupled with an urge to type on a public bulletin board, reflects poorly on the University and it's sports fan base.
