I saw something posted on another board that said KSU soph phenom QB Joshua Cribbs blew out his knee weightlifting. I didn't see any news on this (not suprising). Can anyone substantiate this?

New to the board here .....
But Glad to see something for the MAC.
About Cribbs -
I have been around all summer and have not heard
anything about an injury or a blown knee. I would
think that if it was a season ending injury
Pee's would have issued a statement to the
PRESS to clear the air of any issues. I hope
he is healthy - basically the whole damm season
of any continued success rides with this guy.
ALso.... I noticed that they have torn down all
the old "rickety" bleacher seats on the east
(visitor) side of Dix Stadium -- Are they going
to replace them with a more viable solution?
Lets face they were pretty shabby looking;
Does anyone know anything about this?

I had the same reservations about the Cribbs thing. It was a stupid post that I saw on the ESPN board. Probably a flame, but I was just curious since the NE Ohio papers practically ignore the Flashes. Let's hope that it is internet junk.
On the East bleachers...thank goodness they finally tore that junior high junk down. Unfortunately it is too late to put up anything nice. YSU put up a nice small concrete structure for away stands a few years ago and I had hoped that KSU would do the same. Are they planning something bigger and just going to leave that area empty this year? It seems late to replace them now?
Welcome aboard! It is nice to have some Flash fans around. It has been tough since the Rivals board shut down and broke up the group of fans there last summer.

Thanks Flash:
If I can find anything more about a replacement
structure for the torn down bleacher seats,
I'll post it here. I agree with you that it
would be to late to have anything ready this
season. But at least they are down so we don't
have to look at them anymore. If they have a
structure planned; I wonder where Mr. Kennedy
is finding the funds? Lets see since he has
been Athletic director they have added the
elevator, artificial turf, a great new score
board and now maybe a new seating structure
to Dix Stadium! How does he do it?

Can you believe this?? The stands could not have just become unsafe. Do you think that maybe this is a project that could have and should have been done during the spring. There will be no stands at all there for this season. I live in Kent and I am still waiting for the promotion of the football program. I do not believe money is the problem. President Cartwright is a supporter of athletics and understands the value of being successful. We have a good department but one with no imagination, creativity nor direction.

The firing of Steve Sefner was a start. He was miserable as a "marketer" and play by play guy. I am also disappointed about the lack of promotion of the f-ball program. I wish they would publicly announce their plans to meet the 15K requirement. If they are counting on students, they are nuts. They need to get the alumni out and I haven't seen anything, anyone else? It's not just going to happen by announcing the game in the Record Courier. They need to tap in to the Cleveland market. They say that they are serious about meeting the 1-A requirements, but they need to start putting their money where their mouth is.

Could not have said it better myself. You would think that if we could get 30,000 in that stadium in 1971, that we could get 20,000 this year. <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />

Bleachers could be set up in a matter of days if they needed them. They do it for the Hall of fame game in Canton every year. However , they would look just like the crappy stands they took down. I can think of two reasons they need the seats down:
1. They were unsafe, and will be replaced next year.
2. They can put 15,000 on the home side and two end zones, so why bother to have visiting bleachers. This would make the stadium look more crowded. (We would also look like YSU did)
I hope that the former is the reason. I would like them to close the whole stadium in, so we have what resembles a bowl shaped structure.
On a slightly different topic, Will they ever get to building the Baseball stadium that was pictured on the press guide a few years ago????
