...calling us the most underrated conference in America. Comments include: all three MI coaches sounding positive (DeBord mentioned the tied or ahead in 4/5 home games in the fourth quarter thing, says we're ready to start winning. Darnell mentioned a few "ifs" (as in: "if" the OL develops quickly), and Woodruff said the players are no longer approaching DI football like it's an intramural game (not his exact words, but I swear, that was the comment! ) Amstutz said that UT may have been a little highly-rated by the MAC media based on last season and reputation. Sorry, Toledo folks, even the coach seems to be thinking rebuild, not reload. FSD noticed that EMU and WMU start the season with killer schedules and highlighted the Rivalry Game as one of Western's toughies.

Even during Pinkel's best seasons (1995 - 11-0-1, 2000 - 10-1) he was quiet.

In fact, in the 2000 season a young sophomore cornerback intercepted a pass and ran it back for a TD. The player dove into the end zone, which pissed Pinkel and Amstutz off. They chewed him out big time for that and he has not show-boated since. That is the kind of program Toledo runs.

Thanks for the report CMF. I was hoping to watch FOX Sports Detroit at 10 p.m. last night but I got sidetracked and missed it.

TV 9&10 in Cadillac devoted about one minute of its sportscast on the MAC Media Day. Sports Editor John McGowan is a CMU Alumni and he always does a great job of covering CMU and the MAC.

FIRE UP CHIPS!
