Interesting notes:

Cowboys QB Casey Bramlet was #14 in total offense last season but #89 in passing efficiency, and that was with a couple quality receivers at his disposal.

Wyoming's Ryan McGuffey will be the one to watch for our secondary. 6'6" Malcolm Floyd could also present matchup problems.

Wyoming's defense was a little worse than CMU's last season, giving up two more points and over twenty more yards per game. Six starters return from that unit.

Like CMU's offense last season, Wyoming was somewhat one-dimensional but not bad. Difference: they passed much, we ran much.

This game could come down to whoever's defense has improved the most, since both offenses stand to be pretty strong. If we can eat clock -- we may well do this, with Jackson and company -- and not fall behind early, I think we'll win this one. Another x-factor: Wyoming plays Tennessee on the same day we host SHS. The Cowboys will likely be coming off a big loss, which could play into our hands, along with home-field.

The last comment you make is the most significant CMF. Wyoming's defensive front should be beat up pretty bad by the time they show up at Kelly/Shorts. I fully expect TJ to have a big day running the ball off tackle.

FIRE UP CHIPS!

Yeah, we should be able to run very well, so long as our QB can keep 'em a little honest (I expect enough improvement for this to be the case). I made a correction to my above post: we RAN much, they PASSED much...
