with a sprained ankle according to the CMU website. We should still beat SHS and Wyoming IMO because Kenan Lawhorne is not that big of a drop off. It is starting to worry me that so many guys are getting banged up though.
The same article mentions that Kyle Croskey and Marvin Smith have been named captains.

Agree, lucky that Lawhorne/Mixon are good. We probably won't see a quality defense until later in the season (Boston College?).

Cancel the sprain and make it a break. DeBord says he hopes Jackson will be back by midseason.

This, obviously, is frustrating as hell. Unless these other guys step up their levels of play, this cannot bode well for DeBord's tenure. TJ gave us a chance against IU, but now, even that looks remote. If CMU comes out flat in the first two games, pack it in for yet another disappointing season. Gawd, I wish Deromedi would retire!!!

Easy, CE! The running game loses a little potency without Jackson, but it should still be solid. Remember that Lawhorne/Mixon add a dimension to the passing game and have more speed. We may do a little less pounding between the tackles, but the defenses we figure to see in the first four games are...less than stellar.
