The ultimate shame for Dook - their season was ended by a MAC team.
I remember watching this game...

RECAP......
Earl Boykins scored 14 of his 23 points in the second half as
Eastern Michigan knocked off Duke, 75-60, in the first round of
the Southeast Regional at the R-C-A Dome in Indianapolis.
The Eagles (25-5), who are making their third N-C-A-A Tournament
appearance, will face Connecticut in the second round on
Saturday. Connecticut defeated Colgate earlier today.
"The most important part to basketball is confidence," Boykins
said. "We could play with Duke. They don't have (Grant) Hill
and (Chrsitian) Laettner and they aren't top ranked anymore."
Greg Newton and Jeff Capel had 15 points apiece for the Blue
Devils, who won the N-C-A-A Tournament in 1991 and 1992 and have
made four Final Four appearances this decade. Duke failed to
qualify for the tournament last season and its eighth seed was
the lowest in school history.
Eastern Michigan, which has won six straight games, snapped a
26-26 tie at halftime and used its up-temp offense to embark on
a 23-14 spurt to build a 49-40 lead with 9:30 to play.
"They were better and they deserved to win," Duke coach Mike
Krzyzewski said. "That saying, 'the spirit is willing but the
flesh is weak' applies to my Duke team."
Boykins and Theron Wilson had five points apiece and Brian
Tolbert added three in the spurt as the Eagles took control with
their pressing defense forcing nine turnovers in the half and 17
overall in the game.
Tolbert sank a three-pointer to give Eastern Michigan a 63-50
lead with 4:18 to play. The Blue Devils, who had won five of
their previous seven, got to within 65-56 on a layup by Capel.
But the Eagles closed out the game with a 10-4 run, including
six free throws by Boykins as Eastern Michigan made 9-of-12 from
the line in the game.
Tolbert added 20 points and Derrick Dial had 12 points and six
rebounds for the Eagles, who advanced to the Sweet-16 of the
Tournament in 1991. Eastern Michigan shot 47.8 per cent
(32-of-67) from the field, inclduing 69 per cent (20-of-29) in
the second half.
"When some people ask me what the turning point of the game was
and I see Theron Wilson gets five blocks, I think that is a
turning point," said Eastern Michigan coach Ben Braun, whose
team was ranked in the top-25 during the season. "It is hard to
measure presence, but when he's inside, we are a different
team."
Ricky Price added 14 points for Duke, which shot 40 per cent
(24-of-60) for the game. Chris Collins, who covered Boykins,
returned from an ankle injury to finish with 11 points and was
4-of-10 from the floor.
"It's difficult to guard Earl Boykins," Collins said. "I just
tried to stay in front of himn and make him burn us with
jumpers. He's quick and he runs that team well."
Newton grabbed 15 rebounds, but the front line was hurt by
Taymon Domzalski, who had only three points and two rebounds in
17 minutes before fouling out.
