Any advice on tailgating near or at the stadium? Is alcohol premitted on the stadium lots..ect....

I would appreciate any suggestions. Restuarants, bars,......

Thanks and GO HERD! 04-cheers

Tailgating is nice around the Bowl. It's only a walk away from the stadium. And my friends bring alcohol so I'm almost postive its okay.

There's an AWESOME ice cream shop down the street from the Bowl called Strickland's. It was voted in the top 50 food places to visit in Ohio. I think it might still be open, but I haven't checked recently.

Other than that, nothing really stands out in my mind.

The best tailgating is in the ower bowl area off route 224 near the blimp hanger. Exit off rt 77 (you'll see it on a map).

Alcohol is abundant at Zip tailgate partys. Grills are welcome too.

For some unknown reason security at the bowl is tighter this year. If you want to bring alcohol into the stadium, you'll need to do better than just sticking it in a blanket. Flasks are recommended, or little "airplane" bottles.

DO NOT plan on hitting any bars near the Rubber Bowl. Its located about 7 miles from the school and downtown, and NOTHING is there. Best campus area place to have a beer is BW-3's on Exchange Street (exit off Rt. 8). If you take Exchange street downtown (less than 1/2 mile from campus) you'll find a Jillian's, Brubakers and a bunch of good traditional chain-type bars. This is probably what you're looking for. 04-cheers

Thanks for the info! Can't wait to hit the road on Friday. Looks like it could be a little chilly for the game. That should make it interesting.

GO HERD! 04-cheers
