According to the Boston Globe article Oddy was kind enough to post, we know that BC has exams the week of Dec. 20 and therefore wants to play in the SF Bowl (which is played later than the MCB), and thus they projected V-Tech as possibly headed for the MCB.

In other projections I've seen V-Tech going to the SVB to play Fresno State, and in those projections you see Texas A&M or Wake Forest in the MCB.

If ND does end up in the Gator, I guess it would be a pretty nice Xmas gift if the MCB could grabe a 4 loss (max.) BE team. I'm not a big fan of the BE, but given the alternatives either BC or V-Tech look very appealing, and I'm thinking that once the Hokie's legions of fans "get over" the concept of a bowl in Detroit, they still may send upwards of 7 or 8K fans up to Ford Field.

Texas A&M would be my first choice (if I had a choice), followed by Virginia Tech, Oklahoma St. and then Iowa St.

Any one of those four would make for a great opponent. After that, it gets ugly. :/

For personal interest, I think that would be my order of preference as well. Virginia Tech would've been first had I not already seen them play (live) already this year. I'm guessing that VT would draw the most local interest out of that bunch, however. But, as you said, any one of those four would be fine.

A&M tops my list because I think that Toledo would have a better shot at beating them than they would VT. Not that either is unbeatable. Also, we recruit Texas quite a bit recently and a win over the Aggies would be great for our program.

I'm just hoping that we don't end up with USF or Wake Forest.

The MCB better make a choice quick or they'll be left holding the bag.
I still say BC is going and would be a great match up. VTech won't even sniff this bowl, they'll get better.

A&M????? They just fired thier coach!! They won't accept a bid. Yeah and texans will travel to Detroit.........Well, crack don't smoke itself! ;-)

BTW: Have you ever heard that final exams EVER caused a team NOT to take a bowl bid? They can work that out. ;-) Maybe get an extra week to study :D

If A&M is only offered the Motor City Bowl bid, they will be there.

And would the MCB be that stupid??? I think not..........
BTW: The AD at A&m is on record as saying the team "will not be going to a bowl this year". It will cost them to go to MCB when that money could be better spent on...uh...let's say....maybe a NEW HEAD COACH????

Just my opinion
