Noticed Charlie Frye wearing a different team helmet than most of the other Zip players at the Spring game....so I checked on gozips.com and they have Charlie's version on the "Kent Countdown" as well.

Then I went to the Helmet Project website and what did I find? The newest version of the Zips helmet...I'm diggin' it!

Here is the link to the helmet, since NationalChamps.net wouldn't let me post it here...

<a href='http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/index.htm' target='_blank'>http://www.nationalchamps.net/Helmet_Project/index.htm</a>

Simply go to Mid-American Conference Eastern Division and you'll find it.

The 1988 style helmet for the Zips is the coolest IMO. Kent State has had some pretty cool designs over the years too. The logo they currently use though sucks. 03-puke

You like the '88??? 03-puke

The yellow and blue block "A" from the last helmets was pretty sweet - I'd say its a tie between that and what we have now.

I'm diggin the new helmet too, the logo is more defined and stands out better this way. I'm glad they gave up on the egg-yolk yellow and went back to true gold. I must admit, though, I get a little verklempt when I think about the 2001 helmets with the red stripe representing the fire truck fund for NYC.

the new helmet logos are too sweet.

i liked the logo before this one but the problem was it was too small.

now it is nice and big where everyone can see it.

go zips go
