What is the Pyramid being used for these days, with the Tigers and Grizzlies both moved out?

Thats the big question. Its not even used for concerts anymore. The city is doing a study on the possibilities, one of which is demolition.

I was listening to Nashville talk radio today and they were discussing the fact that the Area and the Stadium both don't have names right now. A caller called in with a suggestion that I loved, Taxpayer Collessium and Taxpayer Arena!

Sorry I was refering to the stadium and arena in Nashville at the beginning of this thread we were discussing if the Arena was still the Gaylord Arena (it isn't) and the Stadium is no longer Adelphia Colliesuim(sp) (the company is bankrupt its founders in jail) So this caller wanted to refer to both structures as "Taxpayer Arena and Taxpayer Collesium" I found that funny, sorry I was less than clear.

Sorry I guess if I had read the top of this thread I wouldn't need to ask for clearification.

Demolition, huh? I didn't think the place was very old -- Just guessing, I was thinking it was built in the early 90's... Hope it wasn't funded with taxpayer money, especially if it ends up getting imploded...

They've got several good ideas for the Pyramid right now that are "on the table". One is a theme park with attached shopping center. That is the leader right now, with an Aquarium close second. They've got a deal in place for a federal building taking the area over (for prison holding and transport) if nothing comes about.
Personally, I hate the fact that its rotting away and not being used. I have a view of it out of my window here downtown. I hope something comes out of it, because it would be such a waste to destroy that cool looking thing. Oh, and the acoustics in there are horrible. I went to one of the last concerts held in the place and it sounded like 2 elephants getting busy on a tin roof.
