For those who don't know, Empire (ch.626 on Directv) has laid off most of their staff and will essentially be just another Fox Sports channel showing syndicated programming. The only real Empire produced programming will be Sabres hockey. For people who do not live in Buffalo (like myself) this severely cripples my ability to see & follow UB Football. There won't be any more weekend Empire Sports reports, so that kills any chance of seeing home game highlights on Saturday nights and Sunday. The weekly Bulls Focus show has been canned as well and that was the only way to see significant highlights of all the games. Man this Sucks!! I know the Iowa game is on ESPN+ but that's about it as far as I know.

I was very disappointed to hear that Empire wasn't going to televise any games nor the Bulls focus that aired on Tuesday nights. I really looked forward to the football focus. I plan on traveling to all the games this year but I still liked to tape the games and send them off to my Dad to see. (players grandfather!) This year there is going to be a UB Coach's Huddle held on Thursday Sept. 11 and 25th, and also on Oct. 16 from 6:30 til 8pm. The ones in Sept. are being held at the Niagara Falls Blvd. Holiday Inn. The Oct. date location is to be determined. Hors d'oeuvres and soft drinks to be served. Spend the evening with family and friends as Coach Hofher highlights the upcoming game and answers your questions about UB football. I was really hoping more UB football games would be picked up for television but that looks mute at this point. Only the Iowa game will be shown on ESPN2 regionally. zrb2 where are you located? Are you able to make any games?

Lucky you....getting to travel to all the games. I live in Maryland (suburban DC) which is a bad location considering all the midwest road games. I plan on going to Rutgers since its about a 4 hour drive, not too bad. I'll be visiting family in Buffalo the weekend of Oct.18 so I plan on seeing the Marshall game.

I think I might just stop up for the UB-OU game in Buffalo this year. My friend from there said its a pretty cool party town.

I live in Northern Virginia, and I know what you must be going through zrb2. Athens is only 5.5 hours surprisingly, and I've actually made 2:00 games leaving the morning before. Maybe if I moved up to Hagerstown I could shave an hour off the trip.
