Myrick, G. Brown, Showers, and Paris McNeal are all missing from the roster.
Is this another class that will be 1/2 gone before they are juniors?
What's the deal?

Welcome to Akron football. This is the same year in and year out. The coaches build up the class and then they fail to get them in school, keep the kids through preseason camp, or just don't help them develop as players. Of course the excuse for the final failure is that Akron has bad facilities and a low budget. Wonder what the excuses will be after another losing season in 2003?

I know you are right.
They make this big deal over Marcus Sanders. Now he is gone.
Nothing from the pathetic UA sports info. dept.
I am both an Akron, and OSU fan.
There are OSU sites that give information on every player, if they leave, why they leave, and so on.
I think Akron players are abducted by aliens, because nobody knows where they are. The Akron SID sucks
Maybe Owens should introduce each new class as these are our 25 signees.
15 will be here as Freshman, 10 will still be here for their senior years.
It's hard to get excited about a team that has no identity.

Since when is 3 players not being on a roster turn into a half-gone recruiting class??? I know they got more than 6 recruits.... :snore:

LOL realist obviously hasn't hit realism yet, because there's no way the Zips will have a losing season this year.

Please name all of the "half gone" recruiting classes by their junior years.

Thanks

The shitbox they play in certainly doesn't help matters. I haven't been to all the MAC stadiums but i gotta believe thats by far the worst stadium and outside of EMU probably the worst "campus" in the MAC. That's a tough combo to sell to a recruit.

With all that said. I'm a Kent fan and sadly i'll predict 8-9 wins for the ZIPs this year and maybe a MAC east title.

Totally agree that it is hard to hold on to recruits because of facilities. Hell, when I was at UA my old high school weight room killed the UA Varsity weight room.
But in case you haven't noticed, that is going to change real soon. I don't even recognize the place anymore! They have pumped so much money into the place that the facilities won't be an excuse much longer. Agreed that the bowl needs major updates to the creature comforts but at least I don't think I'm at a high school game!
That still doesn't mean that UA can compete with some schools in the MAC with respect to facilities. Akron is made up of people who are working AND going to school. Dad doesn't typically give UA students new Bimmers to drive around campus.
But none of the above will matter on Trs. Zips win 37-27.

Myrick is gone. I don't know about the others. I assume there's a decent chance they're prop 48's. In that case they won't show up on the roster until next season.

Yes, the Akron SID sucks with respect to letting peple know whose coming and going...but then again, where are you going to print it? The school web site is a marketing tool. It isn't designed to give that type of info. It is really the job of The Beacon. Thomas Plummer, the top Zip recruit of a few years ago was recently dismissed from the team. You'd figure beat writer David Lee Morgan would let the public know what happened. No chance. I bet he hasn't been on campus in weeks.

F The Beacon. :rolltide: See you Thursday. 04-drinky
