Do yall think it is possible if Anthony Winchester has another great year and becomes an all-american that his jersey will be along side the other retired ones in Diddle?

If he takes the Toppers far enough and makes a few memorable plays then without a doubt, it is possible.

Winchester's jersey could be retired if he has another good year..... and a SunBelt Conf Championship. He will probably end up with close to 1600pts.

I don't expect any Winchester All-American honors unless WKU makes noise in the NCAA.... say Sweet 16 for the Tops. 03-razz

This year will be Anthony's year to break out on the national scene against a team like UGA or UVA. If he does that there is a solid chance of him becoming an All-American. This year I will be comfortable anytime Anthony has the ball, that for sure.

That would be a bitter sweet moment for Felton!

Oh its gonna be a bittersweet moment for Felton because I think we'll beat UGA by 10 or more.

I hate to disappoint you guys...... and, I know what you are saying about the National Scene thing, but UGa and UVa were lousy teams last season......

If those games are televised on ESPN it might mean more, otherwise, ULL might be a bigger game.....

Yes, they may have not been as good as they were a few years ago, but people recognize the University of Georgia or the University of Virginia more than University of Louisiana Lafayette.
The national audience is all that matters when being named an All-American.

yeah, UGA is on NCAA restrictions for the next 3 years, which means 3 years of poor basketball and uninterested fans.

Back to the topic: Anthony should have a great year and finish with maybe 1700-1800 career points. Keep in mind he won't be playing the four as much as last year so the game should come through him more as a 2-3. I know if he continues the improvement to his game as much as last year, he sould have an incredible season. Hey, consider if Lee becomes a true go-to player, think of how that will open things up for AW. If Lee and Adub are covered, just dump it off to Grace or Walker.

Not anymore. NCAA forgave them. Full scholarships. The are under probation, that is it. They have all their scholarships and can participate in post-season.

I love Anthony Winchester. He is a great player. But he won't have a retired jersey. How many jersey's hang in the rafters now? 5-6? Their are many greats before Anthony that deserve that honor. He'd have to have a unbelieveable season that boosts him ahead of many other great players before he'd be in line.

I agree with galojay. We would probably have to make a final four run and he'd have to have a great tourny. There have been so many before him that have done just as much that do NOT have their jersey hanging in Diddle.
