I'm upset  I want to vote for more than one choice, I studied kung fu for three years but it was not the most correct choice!

I think Truman posts more than any person I've ever seen. Are you on vacation this week?

nope just an unusal situation in my life right now. To tell the truth I am having a real challenge both personally, spiritually, and proffessionally. I guess I am just using this and other boards as my stress relief during a bad time. :frown:
That, and I have as a goal to be the "Gilbert" of this board!

You'd better get a few years under your belt before you try to be Gilbert! I don't know if you can possibly have all of the interesting stories he has, but you can try!
Really, about the only posts that I try to stay away from are ones about religion and politics. I find those are the two areas of human life where feelings can be hurt the easiest and relationships can be destroyed the quickest.
So... how about those stupid Republicans? (just kidding)

Can't disagree with that statement. I like Ronald Reagan, had my party leave me. His solution was to join the Republicans, also not my party and but talk a good game until they get power, but I digress. My solution steals from Shakespear "A pox on both your houses!"

I don't belong to a party. Truthfully, I didn't care that much for either candidate during the last 2 presidential elections. I try to decide on the lesser of 2 evils though. Needless to say, personally, this last election didn't go how I wanted it to. I am not a fan of our current President, but I love our country. Wait a second, isn't this a thread over on Haven?
I think both parties are terminally flawed. I don't feel that either wants to do what is best for the people and they all have their own agendas. Unfortunately, I don't believe that is going to change any time soon. I really would like to get some young blood in there to stir things up and possibly get the "powers that be" to think differently. There are some up and coming politicians on both sides of the board that, if allowed, could move us forward. I just think some of the "good ol' boys" have to die off first. That'll be the only thing that will get them out of office.

The Dems and Republicans are terminally flawed. I am more a Constiturtionalist than anything else, (if you want to feel hopeless about your party, vote that way.)
Anyway to the above "lesser of two evil" thought. I have always viewed that as voting for Gommorah over the slightly more evil Soddom.
The big problem is nobody says anything that isn't sanitized to appeal to the middle. I believe we would be much better off if we had two distinct set of beliefs to chose from instead of what we have now. Actually if there was another party that had a sizable minority in the federal legislative branch that would shake things up perfectly.
