If we beat UCF in the first round of that tournament an get to play Arizona will we be taken behind the woodshed or will we put up a good fight or will we win?
I'd like to think that we will put up a good fight an gain some respect back fom when we were dismantled 2 years ago, but I also thought it would be close 2 years ago.

Now that I think about it they are losing Salim Stoudamire and I think Channing Frye and most like more. This could be one of those games where the big name school has the ranking (whatever they're ranked) and we sneak up on 'em.

I know you guys are all jazzed about being in the 'Zona tournament, but wouldn't you rather like to play a big name game in your recruiting area? MSU is playing Cincy on 11/19 - could help us out...

I think most topper fans will agree, we'll take whatever big game we can get.

I like what Cronin is doing - Cincy at Cincy, and Tennessee at the GEC. I wouldn't exactly classify UT as a powerhouse in MBB but they want exposure in that part of the state just like we do. I also like the fact that since that ithe GEC is where our tourney is held, our guys, esp. the newbies, will get a feel for the place, the floor, etc, before we hit the conference tourney. It's kind of like track practice we have up here at the Indy Motor Speedway - getting in some face time in before the conference dance. Knowing where our post-season is I think works to the OVC's favor. You guys don't have that same luxury, do you? You play your post-season tourney at school host sites, right?

Racer by marriage, the SBC has always had the bb tournament at the campus site, at least since the early to mid 90's. It might be interesting if at least the OVC might try it. You may not know that WKU, last year was negotialting with UT to play @ Gaylord. Of course no deal was reached. For this upcoming seaseon, there was a possibility that UK might agree to play WKU in Cincy. Of course the recent announcement that UK would play Ohio in Cincy lays to rest that possibility. And gee, if MSU could get over a reluctant attitude to play WKU in football, Mick and the team could have played us in Diddle this year. Why is there such a reluctance to play us? This type of...even though I'll scratch your back, there's Norfolk-n-way I'll do the same mentality, is rather OLD! :bang: It's always a one way street when WKU is trying to schedule the OOC teams.

I can say this: I was surprised that WKU and MSU played their spring women's soccer game, but I guess that was already on the books and couldn't be changed. I don't think both coaches wanted to change it either. They could have changed it, I guess, but they didn't and I don't think they wanted to. The fall and spring games are cheap for both of them - OOC, and short travel distance which means no hotels, less meal $$, etc. Besides, they seem to have a good rivalry going and I don't think either coach wanted to see that die out.
